Once Upon A Dream
From Inspiration To Existence

"Ok, what is next?" My godsister asked.
"Now we figure out all the products we want to sell," I answered her.
"Ooh, we can make the jewelry and find local artists. I can design the clothes we sell and help find suppliers for other clothes too and we need a section for kids that is different than anything anyone has seen before." Her eyes glistened with excitement as she spoke and I jotted down ideas.
"We should have an upstairs spot for kids and we can put games and puzzles. Arts and Crafts things they can do while their parents shop," I proposed.
"I love that idea!" And so it went for a while longer--the two of us listing everything we could think of. My analytical mind, moved to employees and the benefits of working at our store.
"What do you think about utilizing people's talents so they can do things from home and still make a profit?"
"What kind of talents?" she asked me.
"Well, I can do the jewelry and books. You have the style and clothing. We could find people who paint watercolors or crochet blankets or make wooden furniture."
"But how much would we charge them?"
"We don't charge them. We sign an agreement and they put their items in the store. We have a set stocking fee and they get the money from the sale."
"Oh, I really like that! Then they will tell everyone where to find their art and boom--instant customer base!" The smile on her face was beautiful.
"Bingo! We can help so many people this way!" I grabbed another notebook and furiously began scribbling out a potential agreement for vendors.
The laughter of the two young teens faded into the background, replaced by a more solemn image. Nearly 15 years later, one of those girls had died and the other lived on, with a broken heart but invigorated to still make their dream come true.
I have owned our company now for 5 years, and slowly worked it, while being a single mom and holding down other jobs as well. I am working to fulfill the dream of my god-sister and me, exactly how she wished it to be that day.
Our vision for the company is to expand throughout the United States to include 21 physical store locations, with monthly events to attend. With these locations, the objective will be to provide opportunities for stay at home moms or dads, people with any kind of disability, mental or physical, or anyone who wishes to earn money as a small side job.
We believe that everyone has a natural, raw talent for something. Perhaps you love reading and visiting the library, but you find yourself anxious to leave your house. Perhaps you enjoy sewing or knitting or building furniture. Whatever your craft or passion may be, follow your dreams, wherever they may lead you. The sky is the limit!
As is the case with us, I am fulfilling and following my own dream and I want to help as many people as I can in doing so. Please check out the website for a better visual representation on this.
Our list of products have expanded to include as many homemade items as possible. Each month will have a featured product and link to our website. As we build our products base and redesign our manufacturing process, please be patient. Many new products will be updated and arriving on the website soon. We also have many exciting events which will be hosted each month, for cash and prizes. Follow us on here, for more updates and monthly articles!
