Brandon Young Builds Pathways of Leadership and Opportunity for Future Generations
Empowerment Spotlight

Brandon Young is more than a CEO. He is a builder of people, a mentor of youth, and a leader whose mission reaches far beyond the walls of his companies. As the driving force behind Safety Ops Specialists LLC and Khal Horizons Consulting Group, Young has spent decades blending business expertise with community service. His journey from managing hundreds of employees to coaching high school athletes reflects a deep commitment to growth at every level. Personal, professional, and generational. With every venture, Young works to ensure that opportunity is not just created but sustained, leaving a legacy of empowerment that will inspire leaders for years to come.

You’ve built a career at the intersection of business, security, and community. What personal experiences shaped your mission to create opportunities for future generations?
Brandon: I’ve always wanted to help someone in whatever fashion that I could. If that meant creating a space for people to work and make money where there wasn’t then I wanted to do so. Earlier in my career, I’ve been without a job and asking friends do they have somebody I could reach out to. I never want that for anybody if I can help it.
How do you define leadership, and how has your definition evolved over your 20+ years in sales, management, and security?
Brandon: At its core, I define leadership as the ability to inspire, guide, and empower people to move toward a shared vision while creating an environment where they can perform at their best. Leadership is not simply about authority, it’s about responsibility, accountability, and the influence you have on others’ growth and success.
For me, leadership means being willing to take the first step, to set the standard, and to be the example others can follow. It’s about balancing firmness with empathy, strategy with execution, and vision with practicality.
Over two decades, my view of leadership has matured in stages, shaped by experiences in sales, management, and later in the security industry:
Early in Sales & Management (Focus on Performance & Results):
Early on, leadership was about driving numbers — hitting quotas, pushing for results, and managing performance. Success was measured almost entirely by outcomes. I saw leadership as motivating people to achieve through direction, incentives, and accountability.
As I began managing larger teams, sometimes over 200 employees at once, I realized true leadership wasn’t just about results, but about developing people. Coaching, training, and empowering individuals became central. I learned that when people grow, the results follow naturally.
In the Security Industry (Focus on Trust, Responsibility & Stability):
In security, leadership evolved again. It’s not just about growth, it’s about trust. Clients trust you with their safety, employees trust you with their livelihood, and communities rely on your presence. Leadership here means building systems that are dependable, creating a culture of accountability, and balancing compassion for employees with firm discipline where safety and integrity are non-negotiable.
My current definition blends all these lessons: leadership is about vision. Seeing where an organization needs to go and service, lifting people up so they can rise to that vision. I no longer see leadership as standing above the team, but rather at the center, supporting, guiding, and making sure every person has the tools to succeed.
What was the driving vision behind founding Safety Ops Specialists LLC and Khal Horizons Consulting Group?
Brandon: Saving lives and helping people win and if I could administer resources that would allow people to do that I would.

Running multiple companies takes innovation and resilience. Can you share a challenge that tested your leadership and how you turned it into growth?
Brandon: Running multiple companies takes time, effort, energy, and sometimes money you don’t have. A big challenge was ending a security contract that controlled the bulk of the money I was making because it didn’t benefit my organization long term. The short term gains made a ton of sense but it would hurt the organization long term so having to cut ties with the company and find positions for people within the company was difficult but we were able to persevere.
You’ve mentored both employees and students. What do you believe is the most important mindset shift for the next generation to succeed?
Brandon: The biggest shift I believe the next generation needs to make is moving from a “consumer mindset” to a “creator mindset.”
Too often, young people are taught to follow instructions, seek comfort, and look for ready-made opportunities. But real success comes when you stop waiting for opportunities to be handed to you and start creating them for yourself and others.
Can you share some of the exciting projects you’re currently leading through Safety Ops Specialists or Khal Horizons Consulting Group?
Brandon: Currently Khal Horizons is going to be working to help grow a health clinic with a focus on Medicare which means training sales teams and building a marketing program to garner new patients.
How do your companies create not just services for today, but platforms for long-term opportunity and generational impact?
Brandon: Both of my companies start by solving real, immediate problems. Safety Ops Specialists ensures communities, businesses, and properties are protected with reliable, professional security. Khal Horizons Consulting provides businesses with training, strategy, and growth solutions that address their current challenges. We ground ourselves in the day-to-day needs of our clients so that the value we bring is practical, measurable, and trusted.
Building Platforms for Tomorrow
What makes our approach different is that we don’t stop at providing a service, we build systems that last. For example:
In security, we design scalable programs with training, career pathways, and leadership development for guards, so that employees don’t just work a job — they build a career.
In consulting, we don’t just offer advice; we give clients repeatable frameworks, sales systems, and growth models they can use long after the initial engagement.
This way, the service today becomes the foundation for opportunities tomorrow.
Generational Impact
Our vision is to create ripple effects that go beyond the immediate transaction:
For employees: by teaching discipline, professionalism, and financial literacy, we’re equipping people with tools they can use in life and pass down to their families.
For clients: by helping them stabilize, grow, and expand, we contribute to stronger businesses that create jobs and opportunities in their communities.
For the community: through board service, mentorship, and coaching, we’re investing directly in the next generation, ensuring they see pathways to success not only in school or sports but in business and leadership.
In short: We create services that meet needs today, platforms that open doors tomorrow, and a legacy that inspires generations to come.

What else would you like for our readers to know at this time? Any exclusive news you can share?
Brandon: Be on the lookout for something in the redistribution sector soon.
Looking ahead, what legacy do you hope to leave through your businesses and your community involvement?
Brandon: Through Safety Ops Specialists, I want to leave behind more than a security company. I want to build a model of professionalism, trust, and growth that raises the standard of private security. My legacy in business is to prove that companies can be profitable and people-centered, where employees build lasting careers, clients feel genuinely protected, and communities benefit from safer environments.
Through Khal Horizons Consulting Group, I want my legacy to be one of empowerment. Helping entrepreneurs, leaders, and organizations not just grow revenue but unlock their full potential. The real measure of success is when clients can thrive independently, long after the consultation ends, using the systems and confidence we helped them build.
Ultimately, the legacy I want to leave is this: that I used my time, talents, and businesses not just to build wealth, but to build people, strengthen communities, and set a foundation that others can carry forward long after me.
