Andrea Clerissi and the Art of Producing Beyond Borders
Trained at ESRA and with over a decade of experience producing artists alongside Philippe Vaillant and Anne Roumanoff, Andrea Clerissi has built a solid expertise in supporting comedians and shaping the world of live performance.

Between Method and Creativity, what are the most important lessons you’ve drawn from your years of producing in France?
Andrea Clerissi: France taught me methodical rigor and unwavering creativity. Behind every show, there’s a true mechanism of precision: technical planning, logistics, budgets, and communication. My role, as it’s often described, is to bring people together. Uniting artists and teams around a shared goal enables everyone to work in the best possible conditions and, in doing so, to dare to go further artistically. A Global Mindset
What differences do you see between approaches in France and abroad?
Andrea Clerissi: Every country has its own codes. Some favor speed, others creative spontaneity, still others the strength of collaboration. My mission is to connect these worlds and let a common methodology emerge. That’s how new ways of working are born: by drawing the best from each culture. The Challenges of International Production
Producing internationally involves real administrative complexity. How do you manage these constraints?
Andrea Clerissi: You have to navigate different regulatory and cultural frameworks while maintaining a coherent artistic vision. The balance is delicate but stimulating: continuous monitoring, adaptability, and relying on local experts when necessary. The challenge is to transform constraint into leverage: anticipating copyright, contracts, safety standards, and converting this rigor into creative comfort for the teams. The Future is Cross-Border
How do you see the future of production in today’s globalized context?
Andrea Clerissi: Live entertainment has become a global conversation. Artists are on the move, audiences are more connected than ever, and productions must reflect this fluidity. The future lies in our ability to design projects that transcend borders, reinvent themselves, and bring together different cultures on a shared stage. Digital Technology: A Strategic Ally
What role do new technologies play in your approach?
Andrea Clerissi: Digital tools have profoundly transformed our profession. From streaming and social media to intelligent ticketing platforms capable of providing reliable insights about our audiences, they open new possibilities for reaching and engaging. But technology must remain in service of the experience, never replace it. AI helps us better understand audiences and refine strategies, without substituting for artistic intuition or human instinct. The magic of live entertainment is born from the unique and ephemeral encounter between an artist and their audience; digital amplifies it, it never replaces it. The Importance of Networks and Partnerships
In your view, what makes the difference between a successful production and a memorable one?
Andrea Clerissi: The strength of the network. Success doesn’t rest solely on individual skills, but on the ability to create and maintain solid partnerships: venues, distributors, sponsors, media. Each collaboration is an opportunity to learn and refine our approach. This relational architecture makes the difference between a project that’s simply effective and one that leaves its mark. In Adaptability and Curiosity
What qualities are essential for a producer today?
Andrea Clerissi: Adaptability, first: knowing how to evolve according to very different contexts and collaborate with artists from varied worlds, while maintaining management rigor. And curiosity, especially. Without it, it’s impossible to anticipate change or generate truly inspiring projects. I’d add humility: surrounding yourself with the right people, listening, questioning your certainties. It’s in this posture of continuous learning that the best ideas are born. The Art of Producing Beyond Borders
He embodies a new generation of producers, blending talent, precision with an international vision. For him, live entertainment knows no borders, it flourishes through exchange, diversity, and collaboration. It is within these encounters, and the transformations they inspire, that the most enduring and inspiring productions are born. His ambition for the years ahead is clear: to build bridges between stages across the world, to create works that resonate universally, and to support a new generation of artists in expanding their international reach.
Because producing, at its core, means believing in talent, and giving it the power to touch the world!talent
