Anamaria Ferentz's recently released album, "Dance4Me, is a vibrant and personal exploration of her "chameleon-like" musicality, blending pop, dance, reggaeton, and Latin influences. Shaped by her past success with the band Demmo and a love for connecting through dance music, the album, launched on May 3rd in Los Angeles, is a culmination of a two-year collaboration with producers like Damon Sharpe and Danny Hajj. Ferentz highlights collaborations with Beenie Man on "The Reggae Song" and the heartfelt dedication to her fiancé in "Baby." She hopes the album inspires listeners to embrace their authentic selves, and her next chapter involves extensive live performances worldwide.

Anamaria – thanks for taking some time to share with us details of your new album. Let’s jump right in… You've described your musicality as 'colorful' and 'chameleon-like.' How does “Dance4Me” embody these descriptions?

My album Dance4Me really reflects my personality and all the experiences I've gone through in the past few years, because I wrote it from a very personal place. It’s chameleon-like in sound — some songs are pop, others more pop dance, with reggaeton and Latino influences woven in. In that sense, it mirrors who I am. I’ve always had a chameleonic personality. I don’t like to put myself or my music in boxes. I love to explore, to evolve, to experience — and most of all, to share those emotions through music.

Were there any specific musical influences, either from your past or present, that played a significant role in shaping the sound of 'Dance4Me'?

Yes, definitely. Some of my most impactful musical experiences were with my former band, Demmo. We had huge success in Romania, performing dance music at clubs and big festivals. Those years really helped shape me as an artist. They also fueled my love for dance music — not just performing it, but seeing people feel it, dance to it, and enjoy it. That joy plays a huge role in how I create music today.

You're set to release this album on May 3rd. What are your hopes and expectations for how this album will be received by your fans and new listeners?

Yes, the album was officially launched on May 3rd — and it was truly a dream come true to do it in Los Angeles, California. That night was magical. To be surrounded by friends, fans, and even people I had never met, all coming together to party and enjoy the music — that’s all I could ever ask for. One of the most meaningful parts was having my former bandmate George Emanuel Calin there with me — he now performs as DJ Manuel Riva. Along with my fiancé, it felt like I had family with me. And truly, my fans are my family too. When we dance, we share the same heartbeat.

This album is the culmination of a two-year collaboration. What was the dynamic like working with producers Damon Sharpe, Danny Hajj, George Emanuel Calin, and Timeline333? What did each bring to the table?

I started this journey with Danny Hajj, and I truly loved working with him and Timeline333. They’re incredibly talented, and Danny, coming from a Lebanese background, brought rhythms and vibes that I absolutely adore. Then there’s George Emanuel Calin, who’s like a brother to me — we have a shared musical history from our Demmo days. And Damon Sharpe brought his American perspective and expertise, which added a whole different layer. Each one of them brought something unique and invaluable to this project, and I’m so grateful.

The collaboration with Beenie Man on 'The Reggae Song' is exciting! How did this collaboration come about, and what was it like working with such a renowned artist?

Yes, it was such a huge honor to work with Beenie Man — a collaboration I could’ve only dreamed of. He’s such an accomplished artist, and I’ve always loved reggae, even though it’s not a genre I had sung before. That’s what made it so special — expanding, exploring, and bringing new energy into my music. I hope everyone who listens can feel the love and joy we put into it, and I’d love for people to come see us perform it live. That would be the ultimate dream.

“Baby” is described as a heartfelt dedication to your fiancé. Can you share a bit about the emotions and inspiration behind this particular track?

Yes — 'Baby' tells the story of how I met my fiancé. We were introduced by mutual friends, and on our way to dinner that evening, we stopped to look at the ocean at sunset. We saw dolphins playing in the water — something I’d never seen before — and it felt magical. Everything about that moment was so beautiful. Later, he planned our first kiss to happen in a rose garden in Poland. That detail is in the song too. Creating music from real moments in my life — it’s emotional and special. I love being able to share my love story through my music.

“La Dolce Vita” evokes a summery and liberating feeling. What was the vision you had for this song and what emotions do you hope it evokes in listeners?

La Dolce Vita is such a fun, liberating song — it celebrates the joy of love without borders. I’ve always believed that love is a universal language, no matter where you’re from or what language you speak. As a Romanian woman in love with an American man, I’ve experienced this firsthand. I also love singing in different languages, including Italian, which added to the inspiration. I hope this song makes people feel light, hopeful, in love, and ready to embrace life’s adventures.

What message of self-love and unwavering belief do you hope resonates most strongly with your audience through this album?

I truly hope people feel inspired to go after what they love — whether it’s dancing, loving, painting, inventing, cooking, whatever makes their soul come alive. In a world that often pressures us to conform, I believe the most beautiful thing is to be your authentic self. It’s not just about outer beauty or perfection — it’s the soul within us that connects to others. That’s where true love and connection live. That’s the heart of my message.

You mentioned this project reflects your growth over the past four years. In what specific ways do you feel you've evolved as an artist and how is that reflected in this new music?

I’ve grown in my courage — especially in how I now embrace and blend different sounds and styles without feeling the need to fit into a specific genre. My message has always been about love, self-love, and joy — but now I express it more freely. I’ve realized that music isn’t about fitting in. It’s about standing out, being real, and creating something that makes people feel something deep.

With the release of 'Dance4Me,' what's the next chapter you envision for your musical journey? Are there any new sounds or genres you're eager to explore? Live shows?

The stage is my greatest passion — so live performances are definitely the next chapter. I want to bring this album to life by performing it everywhere I can, all over the world. My goal is to connect with people, sing, dance, and create joy together in every corner of the planet — near and far. I’m also excited to keep exploring new sounds and cultures, and to continue building bridges through music. Thank you for listening, and for joining me on this journey!
