The Treasure Hunt That Called Me Back to Life...

Life is better with people who make you laugh, check in on you, and show you that no matter how low you feel, you’re never truly alone.

Dear Readers,

Today began as a typical Monday for me a blur of odd dreams and a low mood that hung over me like a storm cloud. Nothing seemed to help, and I found myself feeling more isolated than usual. But just when I thought the day was going to drag on, my favorite cousin called me, and everything changed in an instant.

Let me tell you about this cousin of mine. She’s more than just a relative; she’s my sister in every way that counts. No matter how far apart we are, she never fails to check in on me. It doesn’t matter how chaotic her life gets she always takes the time to ask about my health, my medications, my diet, and my life in general. Through all the storms I’ve weathered, she’s been my lighthouse, guiding me back to calmer waters. Her love and care are constants in my life, and for that, I’m endlessly grateful.

So today, when I was feeling particularly down, she called me out of the blue. The moment I answered, I could hear the joy in her voice. “How are you doing?” she asked, her tone warm and full of concern. Now that’s what family love sounds like. We started chatting about everything what I was eating, whether I was taking my medications, and how my writing was going. I assured her I was fine and even mentioned how thankful I am for all of God’s blessings.

But here’s where the story takes a hilarious turn. As we talked, I noticed something odd in her voice. She sounded tense, almost distracted. Naturally, I asked, “What’s wrong?”

She hesitated for a moment before saying, “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.”

Now, if you know her, you know she’s not the type to leave a mystery unsolved, so I pressed further. She started explaining that she was moving around the house, checking every room. And when I say every room, I mean every room. She was running upstairs, downstairs, into the bathrooms, the kitchen, the hall, the courtyard even the car. All the while, she was breathless but determined. Naturally, I asked, “What are you doing?”

She sighed and said, “I’m looking for my phone. I don’t know where I put it. I’ve searched everywhere, and I can’t find it.”

For a moment, I was quiet, processing what she had just said. Then, it hit me like a bolt of lightning.

But before I could say anything, she had already realized that she was talking to me with her phone….

“Wait,” I said, barely able to contain my laughter. “You’re looking for your phone?”

“Oh my God,” she whispered.

That was it. I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I burst out laughing, the kind of deep, uncontrollable laughter that makes your stomach hurt. She started laughing too, a mix of embarrassment and amusement, and soon we were both howling like maniacs. Here she was, running all over the house, searching high and low for the very phone she was using to talk to me!

The sheer absurdity of the situation was too much. She’d gone on a full-blown treasure hunt, only to realize that the treasure was literally in her hand the entire time.

“You’ve officially outdone yourself,” I told her between fits of laughter. “This is one for the books and my Blog.”

Even after we hung up, I couldn’t stop chuckling. It’s moments like these that remind me why she’s so special. Her care, her love, and her quirky sense of humor all add up to make her one of the most amazing people in my life. And today, she didn’t just lift my spirits; she gave me a story I’ll be telling for years to come. If that’s not family, I don’t know what is.

Reflection:

Sometimes, life surprises us with joy in the simplest moments like a call from a loved one who genuinely cares. This story isn’t just about the hilarity of searching for a phone while talking on it; it’s about the incredible bond that keeps us grounded even in our toughest times. My cousin’s unwavering support and humor remind me that love isn’t measured by grand gestures but by consistent, heartfelt actions.

In her own quirky way, she turned my mundane Monday into a memory I’ll cherish forever. Life is better with people who make you laugh, check in on you, and show you that no matter how low you feel, you’re never truly alone. Moments like these are treasures, reminding us to cherish those who care and to find humor even in life’s little absurdities.

Thank You Farida for everything, especially for your support.

God Bless You Always.

Your story really touched my heart. In a world where we witness broken families and troubled relationships, yes, we need a family like this one—simple, but with sincere love. A family where you can truly be yourself, not someone else. I’m happy I read your story, and even happier that you have someone like this in your life.✨🤗
