Synopsis:

“Oops!” is an Outrageously funny TV comedy about a community of the smartest scientists in the world who often accidentally leave the door to the lab open allowing the junior apprentice to gain access. Set in FASE Labs, a top-secret lab located somewhere in an undisclosed mountain range, these 6 bumbling idiots are constantly making stupid mistakes that can threaten life as we know it on earth. The nearby town of Green Lake often feels tremors or other issues due the accidents in the lab but are never made aware of how much danger they are in. Since nobody knows about the lab, and therefore can’t explain the weird things that happen in town, Green Lake is often referred to as the Bermuda Triangle of the Mountains since.

Main Characters:

Oliver Moody (Age 21): Been an apprentice for 5 years. They mainly use him to clean the lab. But due to past blunders, he’s not trusted with cleansers, so he’s only allowed to sweep the floor. The only reason he got into the program is because he’s the director’s nephew.

Donna Niles (Age 16): One of the new recruits. She got into the program because she has a lot of book smarts. However, book smarts don’t really mean actual smarts. Although it was never proven, she was the cause of the school explosion last year. Nobody was injured except the school mascot.

James Riggers (Age 16): Won a science fair when his experiment to clean contaminated water transformed the water into fuel. The problem is that he can’t repeat it since it was really caused by an explosion in the next room. James walks unsteadily, he lost his big toe in that explosion while he was trying out his costume for the school mascot.

Brenda Carrington (Age 18): Daughter of multi-millionaires. They paid the lab a ton of money to let her into the program. She has the intelligence of an acorn. Despite the fact that she’s the dumbest of them all, she’s the one that often fixes the problem.

George Mims (Age 17): Pyromaniac. Enjoy explosions. Got into the program when he made a bomb that created a column of fire straight up without expanding outward.

Jane Mims (Age 17): George’s twin sister. The only reason she’s in the program is that they had room for a 6th person. Their parents said, “I do have 2 kids. Take both.”

Dr. Nerdy, Dr. Egghead, and Joe – 3 of the Top scientists.

Pilot Episode Overview:

The Pilot episode of “Oops!” starts with a black and white map of the United States with a cross hair scanning different areas of the map as if it’s searching for something. After about 15 seconds, the cross hair becomes a question mark and the map fades to a full color still image of Green Lake. A story line scrolls from the bottom.

“In an undisclosed location lies the top-secret lab of the Future of American Scientific Engineers (FASE). Herein lies the smartest scientist on the planet. Together they work for the betterment of mankind the world over. One of their greatest projects was to train the next generation of smartest scientists so that the work can continue after they are gone. One of their biggest mistakes was to train THESE 6 kids. Oops!”

The pilot introduces Donna and James to the group. They are warned not to listen to anything Oliver has to say. “He may be the oldest, but that don’t make him the smartest.” Dr. Nerdy starts off teaching them what chemicals are too dangerous to mix together. Dr. Egghead teaches why leaving uranium lying around is not a good idea. Joe just constantly stops Oliver from playing with the chemicals.

After the quick lectures are over, the 6 apprentices assist the scientist in designing a nuclear reactor. When the day is over, and all the scientists leave, the apprentices, led by Oliver, go back to the lab for a project of their own. Oliver asks the others if they have ever seen the movie where the guy gets bit by a radioactive spider. They plan to give themselves superpowers. However, there are no spiders in the lab. Searching the lab, they find what they believe is a bunch of ladybugs. They put them all in the nuclear reactor. After a few seconds the bugs come flying out of the reactor into an air duct, and into the nearby town of Green Lake. The problem is that these are not ladybugs. They are Asian Lady Beetles. A much bigger nuisance. The only thing they have to say is “Oops!”

Brenda suggests calling Dr. Nerdy for help. The other 5 quickly dismiss that idea. They come up with the idea to release larger bugs to eat the lady beetles. However, these larger bugs become radioactive. They try the same thing 3 more times, ending with birds.

In the end, Dr. Nerdy comes in and wonders why they didn’t call him first. He simply turns on a beacon and all of the radioactive bugs and birds fly into a giant bug zapper. He don’t bother treating anyone who may have been bit from the bugs since nobody knows the lab exist. He asked them what they learned from this experience. They all say, “Don’t play with radioactive bugs.” He tells them that the lesson they should have learned is not to listen to Oliver.

Throughout the pilot episode, several people in town are bitten by the radioactive insects. Most only get a bad rash. A few become superheroes. These will have reoccurring roles in future episodes. The episode goes off with one person turning into a giant bug.

“Oops!” will have you laughing from start to finish. The crazy mistakes will leave tears in your tears in your eyes. So come and enjoy the blunders of FASE Labs. You’ll be glad you did.
