Synopsis

Meme Mavens is a group chat consisting of seven friends. The TV show follows the group chats and video calls of a close-knit group who share a love for crude humor, exchanging memes, and indulging in silly truths and dares, books, anime, video games and music from the 1990s. In their downtime, they gather after work and university to unwind, laugh, and delve into discussions about rising costs, politicians, and their humorous opinions on everything. Their goal is to eventually save enough money to attend and hang out at a convention together, but the long distance and time restraints makes it hard for all seven to meet up.

Ashley

A liberal mother-of-three from Blackpool, England. She bashes her local government and the rising prices of the basics like lettuce and cabbage. She wants to work but is unable to due to her disabilities and being the sole cared of her children. A serious hoarder.

Sparrow

A conservative man from Sunrise, Florida. He is an art teacher in a high school. Is frugal with his money and goes to church every Sunday without fail. His parents are originally from Nigeria.

Ryan

An unemployed man born in Canada, but now living in Gent, Belguim. Active on dating apps and porn sites much to Sparrow and Ashley’s disdain. An excellent gamer.

Lily

SPARROW

(laughs)

RYAN

(disappointed)

Guys, you won't believe it. I thought I met this amazing woman online, but turns out, she was actually a man catfishing me! Why does nobody want to stay with me?

LILY

(smiling)

PIERRE

The group members sing along, creating a joyful and chaotic harmony.

ASHLEY

(excitedly)

SPARROW

(raising an eyebrow)

ASHLEY

(defensively)

RYAN

LILY

MELISSA

JAVIER

The group joins Javier in a sing-along, their voices overlapping with enthusiasm.

Ashley abruptly gets up from her chair, a worried expression on her face.

(hurriedly)

Sorry, guys, I need to go for a moment. The kids are fighting again!

ASHLEY exits the frame, leaving an empty screen in her place.

RYAN

(excitedly)

Hey, guys! Check out this hot girl I've been talking to online!

Ryan shares his screen, revealing a picture of an attractive woman.

SPARROW

(rolls eyes)

Oh, Ryan, not again. Please tell me you've learned your lesson from the last time.

LILY

(surprised)

The group erupts into laughter.

Well, Lily, it was a hefty investment. I spent €1200 euros on these beauties. Worth every penny, though!

ASHLEY

(jumping out of her chair)

€1200?! Are you mad! Javier, I could pay my rent with that! I can't even fathom spending that much on music!

JAVIER

(defensively)

Hey, music is my life! And it's not like I spend all my money on vinyls. Remember the Batman figure Pierre bought? That was only €450.

ASHLEY

(roaring)

€450? I could go to Italy for a whole week with that money!

SPARROW

(teasingly)

Ashley, how much did you spend on chocolate last week?

ASHLEY

(defiantly)

Don't ask, Sparrow! Let's just say I have a weakness for the sweet stuff.

SPARROW

(smiling mischievously)
