Our training on humor went well today. We talked about humor being healing. We talked about laughter yoga. And we talked about Dr. Annette Goodheart, who told me she was paid to get up on stage and laugh with others.
I liked that part and wanted to see how fun that could be. We talked about laughter and did quite a bit of it too. We practiced a few group exercises, and had a laughing bunch. It was great! Many of the best embarrassing moments I have heard, in my opinion, and I will share one or two in this story!
And then there is a few I didn't get to tell. The first one is one my granddaughter told me almost a week ago. She said, "Grandma, will you remember me in an hour?" I said yes. Then she said, "Grandma, will you remember me in a week? I said yes. The she said, "Grandma, will you remember me in a year?" And I said, yes I will remember you the rest of my life!
I thought we were done with that when she said, "Grandma, knock, knock." And I responded, whose there? I had heard this joke or a similar one a long time ago. But she got one over on me this time. I had forgotten it until the very end. I laughed and laughed and laughed. She is a new six year old and so cute!
A story we were told at the training was somebodys embarrassing moment. He talked about how he had been out and met a woman and then he preceded to get drunk. He said the next day the woman stopped by his place and he thought it was because they had hit it off.
He invited her in to his place, made her comfortable by offering her a beverage and something to eat. He started to make his moves then, when she said, "I told you I would stop by with the bill to have my coat cleaned. You owe me thirty dollars as they put a rush on it.
He felt so embarrassed and said, so much for my thoughts of hitting it off, as it turned out he threw up all over her coat and apologized and said he would pay for it to be cleaned.
One other embarrassing story was of a person being stopped by the police as her daughter was telling her a story about her trauma, and abuse and she was so upset she was swerving on the road and was stopped. She thought it was because she was speeding.
The officer said it wasn't because she was speeding. She had crossed the line and he thought she was drunk or having a stroke. She assured him that she was having neither a stroke or drunk. Then as they were chatting, he kept getting closer and closer to her.
Because she hadn't been dating in a long time, she thought maybe he was flirting with her and she was surprised as he wasn't much older than her oldest daughter. She came to realize after he left her without getting her phone number that what he was doing was attempting to smell her breath for alcohol. She was so embarrassed, she couldn't tell anyone.
We heard several more embarrassing moments, including a few of ours. I presented with a friend of mine and she has the stories. We also played off of each other with our age and memory stuff! Then with family and marriage stuff! We then introduced laughter yoga to the group.
Only two people in the room had heard of laughter yoga before. It was a fun hour and everyone enjoyed it. We had around 50 people in our classroom and we were pretty sure everyone was laughing except maybe one guy in the far back corner. Not bad for one hour of humor!

You can never have too much laughter, and after a certain age, you cannot get enough of it. Laughter Yoga sound good. Nicely Done!!
