"Forgotten DAoC Guild ‘LARFO’ Resurfaces in 2024 with ‘Lost’ 2017 RvR Video, Enthralling Dozens"
Realm Chronicle - News You Wish Had Stayed Forgotten

Camelot (Online) — Dark Age of Camelot players, rejoice (or cringe): the long-lost guild "LARFO" (Love and Respect for Others) has re-emerged in the form of a newly-released RvR video from 2017, edited and uploaded by guild member Marfo seven years after the footage was captured. The obscure 90+ minute, mostly grainy video, filmed on the private server Uthgard, has sent shockwaves across the game’s nearly deserted forums and sparked intense debates in LARFO’s ancient Discord.
The guild’s elusive leader, Garfo, admitted he was baffled when the video surfaced late Thursday night. “This whole thing is new to me,” Garfo stated. “I haven’t played since we last wiped on that hill outside Svasud Faste. Honestly, I just assumed Marfo lost this footage to a Windows update.” Marfo, a shy Canadian known for lurking quietly in the background, reportedly unleashed this footage upon the world without consulting the other guild members, all of whom seem equally confused.
Reactions within the guild have ranged from nostalgia to outright denial. Xarfo, the group’s resident know-it-all who spent most of 2017 lecturing guildmates on “meta strats,” voiced his immediate disappointment. “I mean, yeah, sure, it’s content, but it’s not quality content,” Xarfo griped in a statement. “In one shot, you can literally see Denial picking fights with random Hibernians just to impress Simen, who we could barely understand half the time. Marfo’s camera work is like watching a potato through a screen door.”
But Denial, LARFO’s resident trash-talker, is sticking by the video. “Look, if my aimless smack-talking didn’t carry this guild, what did? Proxey?” he said, firmly directed at "JP", LARFO’s resident clown and favorite punching bag. “Proxey barely even contributed. All he did was get repeatedly shield-slammed. Frankly, I’m the reason Marfo wanted to immortalize this.”
The release has spurred mixed reactions from other guild members. Earfo, the boisterous latino who has long struggled with basic combat mechanics, shrugged off criticism of his erratic PvP attempts caught on film. “So I got killed a few dozen times—who’s counting? It’s about having heart, not skill,” Earfo proclaimed to a Discord audience that did not respond. “Besides, it’s not like Bertt did anything worth watching. He was just… there. Like always.”
Bertt, meanwhile, offered no comment beyond a succinct “I’m just Bertt” before disappearing back into obscurity, likely unaware of the video’s existence.
Though, the video did earn some praise from Yharfo, the guild’s resident pothead who paused several times to call out what he thought was a rabbit in the footage but was actually just an out-of-focus tree. “This is great, man,” Yharfo said, giggling to himself. “It’s like, real-time proof of all the good vibes, you know? Plus, I think I saw my cat, but it might’ve been Danny Mendez’s mustache?”
While viewership on the video has yet to break double digits, Rotharek remains pleased. “I just love everyone here, man,” said the gentle giant, smiling brightly. “Whether we’re reliving our glory days or just rolling around in nostalgia, I’m here for it.”
Big Eric, the no-nonsense “LARFO Daddy,” was blunt in his assessment. “This video just proves we sucked,” he said. “But I still love these morons. And that counts for something, I guess.”
The release has also brought a rare glimpse of Simen, the guild’s newest member from Norway, who joined LARFO shortly before the footage was filmed. Despite being largely unintelligible, Simen somehow became a fan favorite within the guild for his vague but enthusiastic battle cries, which the others assumed were Norwegian war chants. “I say ‘love for guild, life for LARFO!’” Simen reportedly shouted, before exiting the interview in a series of muffled Nordic-sounding expletives.
The video’s reception has been lukewarm but dedicated, gathering up to eight views and sparking lively comments, such as “Who uploaded this?” and “Is DAoC still a thing?” While it’s unclear if LARFO will ever reunite on a battlefield again, the video has given each member a reminder of their immortal bond—and a well-documented record of just how bad they were at the game.
As of this morning, LARFO’s Discord server remains active for the first time in years, with guild members debating whether they should attempt another RvR run, even if only to “show Xarfo he doesn’t know everything.” Whether this historic upload will mark LARFO’s official return to DAoC or remain a nostalgic reminder of their chaotic glory days is uncertain. But one thing is clear: if they return, the rest of Midgard should probably brace for impact.
