The Dugli

Gabendro International Failure’s School | SESSION 1 | EPISODE 1

Lunchtime Misadventures

[Scene: The school cafeteria during lunch break. Students are eating, but Dugli sits on a bench, rubbing ice on her head while occasionally munching on some. Tandu approaches her, puzzled.]

Tandu: Hey! What… are you doing?

Dugli: I’m trying to cool my head like Mount Everest!

Tandu: But why?!

Dugli: If my brain becomes as cold as Mount Everest, it will cool my whole body! Then I can climb Mount Everest!

Tandu: You look like a fool.

Dugli: No, you’re the fool! Because you don’t listen carefully in Ms. Limia’s Biology class.

Tandu: What did Ms. Limia say?

Dugli: She said, “Our brain controls our body.” So I asked her if I had a brain, and she said something very wise…

[Flashback: Ms. Limia, their Biology teacher, raises an eyebrow and responds.]

Ms. Limia: If you’re rubbing ice on your head at lunchtime instead of eating, then yes, you definitely have a brain... but it might need some repairs.

[Back to present.]

Tandu: That’s it! Give me some ice—I also want to test if I have a brain!

Dugli: Here you go!

Tandu: Thanks! You know what? Let’s climb Mount Everest together!

Dugli: That’s an even better idea! We’ll prove we can do anything!

They highfive dramatically, sending a few ice cubes flying. Other students watch, shaking their heads in disbelief.

Back to Class: The Homework Crisis

[Scene: The lunch bell rings. Students return to their classrooms. In Class 10, Mr. Nolen, the Physics teacher, enters. He has a reputation for cracking jokes in class.]

Nolen: Good afternoon, students!

[All students reply in unison: "Good afternoon, sir!" Except for Dugli and Tandu, who remain silent.]

Nolen: What about the backbenchers?

Dugli: Backbenchers are always fine, sir!

Tandu: Yeah!

Ringlu (another student): Sir, don’t waste class time! You gave us homework yesterday—remember?

Nolen: Oh! Right. Everyone, take out your homework.

[Students pull out their notebooks. Dugli nudges Tandu.]

Dugli: Hey, did you do your homework?

Tandu: Yeah.

Dugli: What?!

Tandu (sleepily): I mean… no. I couldn’t do it.

Dugli: What excuse should we give this time?

Tandu: Umm… how about a severe stomach illness?

Dugli: We’ve used that excuse at least 150 times!

Tandu: Okay, fine. How about… we tell him we were abducted by aliens?

Dugli: We used that one in seventh grade.

Tandu: What if… we say that a monkey stole our notebooks?

Dugli: Tandu, we’re in a school, not a zoo!

[Students start showing their homework. When Dugli and Tandu’s turn comes, they nervously exchange glances.]

Nolen: Dugli, Tandu, where’s your homework?

Dugli: Uh… sir… we both had a stomach illness…

Nolen: Again? That’s the 151st time this year!

Tandu: Sir, it’s a new kind of stomach illness. It’s called… uh… "Homework Allergy!"

Nolen (shaking his head): Stand on your bench. No more excuses!

[Dugli and Tandu groan as they stand up on their bench. The rest of the class giggles.]

End of the Day: A New Plan

[Scene: School ends. Students pack their bags and head home. Dugli and Tandu, still sulking from their punishment, discuss their next move.]

Tandu: We really need better excuses.

Dugli: Or… hear me out… we actually do our homework?

Tandu: Nah. That sounds way too extreme. Let’s just brainstorm better excuses instead.

[Dugli thinks for a moment, then grins.]

Dugli: Okay, how about this? "Sir, I was about to do my homework, but then I realized the pencil was cursed. Every time I wrote, the letters turned into emojis!"

Tandu: That’s ridiculous… I love it! But we need a backup plan in case he doesn’t believe us.

Dugli: Fine. How about we tell him that we lost our homework while training for Mount Everest?

Tandu: Brilliant. That way, he’ll think we’re dedicated athletes, not just lazy students!

[Dugli and Tandu laugh as they walk toward the school gate, their minds filled with fresh, absurd excuses. Neither of them knows what chaos awaits them tomorrow…]
