It's five o'clock and a Friday. Thank God! After a long week consisting of meetings, bar hopping with coworkers and overtime that only I seemed to have to deal with, I can finally go home and watch horror movies...Until I hear a voice.

"Let's see what Aaliyah is doing!"

I panic! Shoot...I. Need. To. Leave. Suddenly, the "Mission Impossible" song comes on. My mission: get to my car and get home. Here I am: army crawling through cubicles, eyeing the elevator. I keep hearing: "Do you think she can help me with this project?" Or "The meeting starts in five minutes!" I stand up slowly and as I walk, I see the dragon or what I call her: Janine, the coworker who always demands people switch shifts with her since she "hAs a faMilYyyy!" I know she's going to want me to take over while she goes home to her three kids and husband. But not today! No, I'm getting my Chinese food and Wine and will watch 80's horror movies until I fall asleep!

I reach the elevator, when suddenly I see my boss. I then became a ninja and hid. He asked where I was and started to call. Reaching my phone, I turned it to vibrate immediately. As soon as the elevator dropped me off, I ran so fast to the car, the debris from the ground flew. Finally, I made it! Now off to the Chinese restaurant.

The best in town and packed for some reason. I've never seen this place packed. However, I'm sure people are craving Chinese food especially during a rainy day. As I speak to the server, I hear a voice too familiar: Tony! I went out with him for six months and ghosted him when I seen how unhygienic he was. I put my hoodie on, but it was too late:

"Aaliyah! How are you doing?"

"Great!" I said, nervously. Then...he cornered me and asked why I ghosted him. But thank God the server came! I think I paid way more than I anticipated because of how much of a hurry I was in.

That was awkward, but I don't care. I'm almost home! But then...I noticed I am very much out of gas. When I stop to pump, I seen a homeless man...singing to me. It was fine...until he blocked me from leaving so he could perform for me. Dear god, how am I going to move! There is a car behind me as well. Wait! I know what to do! I will entertain him and when he looks away, I will drive off. So I danced a bit and turned the radio up. As soon as he moon walked, I drove off like I was in the Batmobile from that joker!

My house! I am finally here! I put on my comfy grey sweats, took my makeup and bra off and prepared myself for the much needed care. Everything was going swimmingly...until the scariest thing can happen for me...the streaming service was down! Why?! Out of all days! I pray to god that she'd please hear my cry...when I think it can't get any worse...I hear a knock. My lights are off fortunately. However I look to see who it was. It was my friends. No! I need to be alone!

They called my phone but luckily, I still had it on vibrate. My car is in the garage as well since I wanted to hide away. As they were leaving, my TV decides to turn on! I rolled on the floor and to the couch to quickly turn it off. Luckily, they don't seem to notice and they soon leave.

Laying on the ground, I just have to laugh at all the treacherous things I had to deal with to get here. But now, I am being rewarded. I can finally watch TV!
