You Need to Read This: Life's Wisdom in Three Words

These three words carry an entire philosophy of life...

There is an old story about Birbal, one of the wisest ministers in Emperor Akbar's court. He was once asked to say something that could calm the mind in times of sorrow and also keep it grounded in times of happiness. Birbal's reply was simple, yet timeless: "This time will pass."

These three words carry an entire philosophy of life. When pain feels unbearable, they offer hope. When joy feels permanent, they offer humility. They remind us that life is not meant to remain static. Change is not an interruption-it is the rule.

In the phase the world is currently passing through, this thought feels more relevant than ever. Uncertainty has entered our routines, our plans, and even our relationships. Yet within this uncertainty lies an opportunity to pause, reflect, and rediscover what truly sustains us.

Faith Must Walk with Responsibility

However, faith alone is not enough if it is not supported by right action. There is a well-known anecdote of a man crossing a desert who wondered whether he should leave his camel untied and simply trust God or secure it and then place his faith in the divine. The answer was clear: tie the camel first, then trust.

This wisdom applies perfectly to our present reality.

Yes, prayer is necessary.

But so is discipline.

So is awareness.

So is responsibility.

Faith does not free us from responsibility; it strengthens us to act wisely.

Life Doesn't Need to Be Perfect to Be Beautiful

There is a simple truth we often forget: life does not need to be perfect to be wonderful. We spend years waiting for the "right" conditions—better time, better space, better situations. But reality rarely aligns with our expectations.

When we accept the situation given to us and stop resisting it, something softens within. Acceptance does not mean giving up; it means flowing instead of breaking. When faith becomes the boat and remembrance becomes the oar, even difficult waters can be crossed.

Choosing Positivity Without Ignoring Reality

Negativity has a peculiar habit-it stays where it is repeatedly invited. Constantly discussing fear, loss, and uncertainty drains mental energy. Awareness is essential, but fixation is harmful.

Positivity does not mean denying reality.

It means choosing hope despite reality.

Just as we clean our hands repeatedly to protect our bodies, we must cleanse our minds regularly to protect our thoughts. Avoiding unnecessary negativity, limiting harmful conversations, and focusing on solutions rather than problems help maintain emotional health.

Looking Forward with Faith

This time will pass. History assures us of that. And when it does, the world may not return exactly as it was. But perhaps we will return wiser, softer, and more grateful.

Because every night carries within it the promise of dawn.

And every pause in life arrives to teach us something we were too busy to notice before.

Sometimes, life does not need long explanations, complex philosophies, or heavy books. Sometimes, it quietly places a truth in front of us in the simplest possible form. Four words. That’s all it takes.

This time will pass.

In these four words lies patience for those who are struggling and balance for those who are celebrating. They remind us that pain is not permanent, and neither is pleasure. When we are overwhelmed, they give us hope. When we feel in control, they gently take that illusion away.

Most of us live as if the present moment will last forever—either fearing it endlessly or clinging to it desperately. These four words break that habit. They invite us to breathe, to step back, and to see life with a wider lens.

Understanding this does not make life smaller; it makes it lighter. It teaches us not to panic in chaos and not to lose ourselves in comfort. It reminds us to act wisely, love deeply, and stay humble—knowing that time moves forward no matter what we do.

Perhaps this is the wisdom we forget most often: not everything needs to be fought, and not everything needs to be held onto.
