Scorpions are native to both Texas and Arizona, with Arizona being home to the bark scorpion, the only North American scorpion dangerous to humans, according to the University of Arizona’s Health Sciences. While other scorpion species in the Southwest can cause pain, skin irritation, or swelling, the bark scorpion’s venom can produce symptoms ranging from mild to severe. Kourtney didn’t specify which type of scorpion stung her.
The University of Arizona reports that Poison Control Centers in Arizona receive about 20,000 calls annually regarding scorpion stings, though the actual number of stings is likely higher since many people don’t seek medical attention.
In Kourtney’s case, she needed hospital treatment.
“I had to go to the hospital,” she told Simon, adding, “If you’re allergic to a scorpion, they inject you with goat’s blood.”

Animals like horses or goats are injected with small amounts of venom, and the antibodies produced by their immune systems are harvested through bleeding. This blood serum or plasma is then concentrated and purified into pharmaceutical-grade antivenom.

Know that this worldly life is no more than play, amusement, luxury, mutual boasting, and competition in wealth and children. This is like rain that causes plants to grow, to the delight of the planters. But later the plants dry up and you see them wither, then they are reduced to chaff. And in the Hereafter there will be either severe punishment or forgiveness and pleasure of Allah, whereas the life of this world is no more than the delusion of enjoyment.
