By Jide OkonjoPublished 11 months ago 3 min read

In recent years, fans of reality television star Erica Nlewedim, widely recognized for her participation in Big Brother Naija, have noticed that the actress is no longer as actively online as she once used to be. In fact, even in the Nigerian movie industry, she hasn't been as active after the show as people thought that she would be. Now, in a new interview with Saturday Beats, Erica is revealing why this is the case and what she has been up to instead. Here's what Erica had to say.

Speaking about why she has taken a step back from the way she normally posts on social media, Erica Nlewedim said:

ERICA NLEWEDIM: I now live my life outside of social media and what people say there, because that’s how to live. I live my real life because social media is not real life. So, I block out negative talks, listen to my inner thoughts and follow what I want to do at a particular time. So, whoever is doing that is doing well.

Then, speaking about how she's able to not be so in the public eye especially when as an entertainer, a lot of the job is being in people's faces, Erica revealed that this has become possible because she herself has taken a little step back from working in entertainment as she used to before. Erica revealed saying:

ERICA NLEWEDIM: There a was time for me to do a lot of acting, brand deals, and invest the money I have made into a business. Now, I think that it is time for me to live my life with a little more balance, adding a little of Erica is still a young girl she is not always working but she is actually living and enjoying her life and also doing business.

So, I am not relying on entertainment industry money because there is more money from business out there. And then I am doing entertainment as a hobby now and it’s making me fall back in love with it because I am not doing it under pressure anymore.

Revealing some of the businesses she's into since entertainment is no longer her main source of money, Erica also revealed in an interview saying:

ERICA NLEWEDIM: I have some businesses, including real estate. I have some shortlet apartments, as well as a skincare business, which I will expand into a spa.
