Why Are Egos So Important to People?
I don't understand why image is so significant to so many people.

One thing that has always bothered me about people is how they want others in the world to view them. Egos is one of the few things in life that can easily ruin a person, and I don't get why this is such a huge thing for people. Why do people feel the need to look good in front of strangers? Why do they want to stand out, wanting people they never met, to know that they are pretty 'well off' in life?
I have heard of so many stories where people let their egos destroy everything they have worked for. One particular story that shocked me, was a man who was allegedly making about $30,000 a month.
He claimed that he was in debt, because he bought homes for his family, cars for his family and friends, and even owned a boat that was freaking expensive to keep up with.
This dude was making $30 grand a month, yet he was struggling to make a living on his own.
All because he wanted people to know that he was 'rich.' He wanted people to see his boat, and think that this guy is doing well. He wanted people to know that he could afford anything, and that is why he bought so many cars and several homes to 'look good.'
The first time I had heard this story, I was baffled.
How could someone that makes $30 grand a month, screw up on so many levels? If I was making that much per month, I would be living in bliss.
I would probably end up using about $5,000 a month for my living expenses, groceries, gas, paying for a car, rent, etc. And I would save $25,000 a month, and it would work so well for me, that I would most likely become rich by the end of it.
This random stranger easily could have lived so well with his money, and he could have retired quite young too, if he was smart about it.
If you think that's already bad enough, wait until you get a load of this story.
And the first time I had heard about this one, I was really hoping it was some sort of prank, because there is no way that people like this exist.
One particular woman was going to get married, but she wanted an extravagant wedding, the kind that only the rich can afford. Allegedly, she was demanding each of her family members and friends to each spend $20,000 on her wedding, and obviously, no one could afford this.
She allegedly threw a tantrum when she learned about this, because her loved ones couldn't afford to spend so much money on her.
This is another level of entitlement. Who the hell does this to people? To everyone that they personally know and love???
And her husband to be, got so pissed off, and he told her off in front of everyone at the wedding reception. She was angry and embarrassed, and she claimed that she had a break down, wondering why the world was so against her.
This woman sounded like a nightmare, and I can't believe she would stoop so low. How on earth did she expect people to afford $20 grand each for her wedding? Just what the hell was she planning?
I have two theories to this alleged true story. I think that she wanted to experience the rich magical wedding experience, and she thought that everyone would agree to spending so much money to make her dream come true. Or she wanted to go on social media, and show the world her magical wedding, because she 'wanted to look good.'
It's so sad that people allow egos to take over their lives.
For me, as long as I am financially stable, I will be happy.
I don't need boats, nor do I care for boats. I don't want to buy fancy cars, I just need a brand-new Honda Civic. I dream of getting a home for one of my family members, but I don't think they need a million-dollar home. I dream of getting married, but I'm not going to charge everyone $20,000 apiece to make my wedding a reality.
Honestly, the only thing I have a problem with is buying books.
And that is far better than boats and weddings.
