The sun shines in a demanding take it or leave it way today.

My eyes are squinting but wanting to take it all in and never let it go.

The light of the day overcomes you with a loud here I am brightness.

It's wonderful to feel the warmth on your skin and face and you smile

knowing you are alive and well. A smile that soaks into your soul

and becomes comforting and relaxing. An eagerness emerges

willing and wanting to see what lies ahead. Challenges? For sure.

The amount of strength needed ahead is unknown. No promises

or guarantees but the mystery of tomorrow will be better understood

if we live today. So I walk ahead warily with my eyes becoming used

to the bright light around me. Needing to find out, become aware,

experience. It was the best and wisest thing I could do.

Of course the journey would have many obstacles, hills and valleys.

Even though my mindset and attitude were in place I was not real confident.

After walking what seemed like many miles I saw a woman walking ahead

of me. I wanted to scream "hey you" but I didn't want to scare her.

She was walking with a purpose and I watched as she suddenly stopped

in her tracks. She rested and sat down. Taking measured breaths she looked

into the distance. Though a small lady I sensed her strength. Then she

turned her head in my direction and her eyes saw me and I saw her.

Her beauty instantly appeared. She seemed to enter my soul with a comfort

and trust. In an instant she was no stranger. Without speaking she said

there is a spirit here to guide us with kindness and gentleness.

And upon this a foundation can be built.

Why was this woman the one I met today? I needed to know was she

put here for a specific reason? Or many reasons? I felt the need to be

educated, influenced, shown things I needed to see. Her beauty seemed

to illuminate and illustrate a way of life. A way of selflessness but trying

not to forget how special and amazing she truly is.

The sun is almost directly overhead now ruling above its kingdom below.

The blue sky and wispy clouds seem delighted in their roles for the day.

The lady smiles to me and my soul brightens. Her eyes say it's time

to move on. I understand instantly and know its the right thing to do.

She moves ahead with a purpose and steps toward the unknown. She

walks forward wanting to find and solve the mysteries that lay ahead.

Trying to be steady. Never letting on that every step takes so much effort.

Her independence on full display.

She slows and allows me to get near her. She turns and pus her head

on my chest and I wrap my arms around her. A beautiful time-stopping

moment. Feeling her love. Hearts so close. I could have shouted out

with joy but I didn't.

Happiness and kindness is what I felt passing between us. Then we

broke apart and her softness was gone.

With one more glance she motions to follow. The warmth of my heart

becomes equal to the warmth I feel from the sun. Cautiously I start in

the same direction. I want to stay close if I can. I seem to trust her.

Realizing she has many mysteries some never to share but if she

decides to share I want to be there to help.

When we meet and make great friends on our journey we become

so much richer. And although not always near by I will never be far

away. And richer because of you.
