What is the Perfect Recipe for Human Resources Strategies?

Creating the perfect human resources recipe is a lot like cooking a delicious meal. Just like a chef must carefully select the ingredients for a meal and the technique for combining them, a business must carefully select the strategies and procedures for their human resources strategy. This recipe must be tailored to the specific needs of the business and carefully monitored and adjusted to ensure that it is meeting the organization's Must Win Strategies.

What is the ideal recipe for human resource strategies?

The ideal human resources recipe consists of a combination of strategic 4Ps: planning, performance, policy and people, all of which are strategically designed to create an optimal work environment with people and culture at the center. This recipe includes a mix of both traditional and innovative strategies that are tailored to the needs of each business. It involves running everything smoothly, from talent acquisition to talent management to performance management to employee engagement and total rewards. This includes creating policies and procedures that are fair and effective, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, and providing resources and training to ensure that employees are able to reach their potential.

Just like a chef must carefully select the right ingredients to create a delicious meal for customers, human resources strategies must focus on employee experience and short- and long-term business strategies.

Having a good strategic HR plan is like having a good meal plan in a restaurant. It should have;

  • Appetizers of good employer brand, hiring right person and onboarding them properly
  • Main course of strategic performance management, talent development and succession plan to handle future transformation and disruption
  • Side dishes of good training plan to ensure the skills are relevant to reach business goals
  • Dessert of employee engagement to keep people happy
  • Finally, a beverage of total rewards and benefits for everyone’s effort.

This will ensure a full and balanced strategy for success.

Like a good chef who knows which ingredients to use depending on each customer, the best HR strategies must address different business needs while maintaining employee happiness to deliver the best work.

Here are 4 stages of Human Resources Cycle.

First stage of Human Resources Cycle: Recruitment and Onboarding

Recruiting->Interviewing->Hiring->Onboarding

This process involves sourcing, interviewing, and hiring the best talent for the business. It involves researching potential candidates, creating job postings, and conducting interviews. It is important to ensure that the recruitment and selection process is fair and unbiased, and that the best candidate is hired for the position. Once a candidate is selected as successful candidate, he or she will go through structured onboarding or orientation to ensure the success of newcomers.

Second stage of Human Resources Cycle: Performance Management

Goal Setting->Performance Review-> Talent Review->Performance Evaluation-> Development Plan

The performance management stage involves monitoring and evaluating employees’ performance. This includes setting performance goals, providing feedback, and providing training and development opportunities. It is important to ensure that the performance management process is fair and effective and that employees are given the resources they need to succeed.

Third stage of Human Resources Cycle:Employee Engagement

Engagement Survey->Engagement Result->Engagement Action Plan->Employer Brand

Employee Engagement is the process of creating a positive work environment and fostering good relationships between employees. This includes handling employee engagement action plan to fix people's issues raised from employees, for example ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, and creating policies and procedures that are designed to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Forth stage of Human Resources Cycle:Total Rewards

Increment or benefits adjustment after performance evaluation and business result

Total Rewards is the process of determining and providing compensation and related benefits for employees. This includes setting pay rates, providing bonuses and incentives, and providing benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. It is important to ensure that employee compensation is fair and competitive, and that employees are rewarded for their performance.

Creating the perfect human resources recipe is essential for any business. It involves carefully selecting the right strategies and procedures and monitoring and adjusting them to ensure that they are meeting the desired business outcomes. Most organization issues are rooted from people issues, therefore it’s crucial to understand the root cause and put a big stop to it. Just like a chef must carefully select the ingredients and the technique for combining a good meal, a business must carefully select the strategies and procedures for their human resources strategy.
