WHAT IF

"In the evening, on my way back home, I passed by a park where I could see children playing around and people of different sects laughing and gossiping with each other. They all seemed to be very happy. It seemed that they didn't have any hatred for the people of other sects"

Yesterday, when I woke up, I saw the bright and warm sunlight coming through my window. It felt good. The morning was so calm. According to my daily routine, I took a shower and after taking my breakfast, I left my home for the office. Normally, I used to go via public transport, but I couldn't find any public bus running on the road that day. Since I was getting late, I booked a taxi cab. The driver arrived to pick me on my location and welcomed me warmly to his car. I was wonder-struck by his behavior. When I reached my office, I asked him about the charges. He told me to give him $1.5 only. I was astonished that how could he ask me for $1.5 when usually they used to charge $5 for that long distance. I asked him again for I thought he was not there in his senses. He replied with reverence and added that the time had changed and one could travel a distance up to 15 kilometers just in $5. I was astonished but happy to know about that change.

My boss was a very hard task-master for all the workers and employees. He used to be very angry all the time and would never forgive anyone for their mistakes and shortcomings. However, what I saw that day was quite surprising. A worker unintentionally dropped a glass of juice on the floor. But the reaction of our master was totally against our expectations. went towards that worker and told him politely, "Don't worry, dear. It happens. You didn't do it intentionally." I was shocked by his response. One of my colleagues once again reminded me that the time had changed a lot.

During the lunch-break, I ordered a medium- sized pizza and a glass of cold drink. The delivery-boy brought my order after fifteen minutes. I asked him for the bill. He handed me over a bill, and according to that, I had to pay only $3. I asked him to recheck that bill. But he replied that it was actually mine. Once again it made me very happy.

In the evening, on my way back home, I passed by a park where I could see children playing around and people of different sects laughing and gossiping with each other. They all seemed to be very happy. It seemed that they didn't have any hatred for the people of other sects. I was very happy. I asked the watchman, "Why is it so?" The watchman repeated the same words that I had heard so many times earlier that day and these were, "The time has changed!"

After this, I couldn't see anything since I felt a light falling on my eyes, sun-rays probably. I woke up and realized that it was a dream.

It isn't important whether it was dream or reality. What actually holds importance is that why can't we have such a world around us. All the day long, I was absorbed in my thoughts. I was thinking that how beautiful and peaceful the world would be if we try to resolve our issues. How beautiful the world would be if we learn to have some kind of compromise! How beautiful the world would be if the people of world work tirelessly to make it a prosperous and happy land!
