What I Say to Girlfriends Who Start Asking Me ‘What Are We? What Are We Doing?’ - Timaya
Timaya opens up about dating, marriage, more

Nigerian musician Timaya is till today one of Nigeria's most eligible bachelors. The musician who has been responsible for such hits as Dem Mama, Sweet Us, Cold Outside, I Can't Kill My Self, and more is still very much a single man and it looks like he has no intentions of changing that relationship status any time soon.
During an interview with Eve's Eye, Timaya sat down for a conversation where he opened up about relationships, dating, marriage, and his children. He talked about what he says to women when they try to bring up the conversation of 'What are we?', and 'what are we doing?'. Here is what Timaya had to say about those questions, how he responds, and his general thoughts around marriage, relationships and his children.

Opening up about relationships, dating, marriage, children, etc, Timaya said during his interview:
TIMAYA: I’m not married, I have a girlfriend. I’m not that kind of man. What am I doing with plenty women? I’m not a confused man, I can’t bear drama. I’ve dated girls that when they wake up in the morning, they’ll be like, ‘What are we doing?’ And I’m chilled, we’re having fun and the next thing you pop up that question.
The last one that asked me that before I started dating my girlfriend, she asked me. We'd been good. She just woke up one morning and asked me, ‘Where are we going to?’ And I just told her, ‘I don’t know. Am I a GPS? I don’t get it?" They always ask that. But it’s not every relationship that has to get to marriage. I’m not ready.
You know, you need to understand. If a man is not ready, sometimes, these women that leave what is important to go discuss things that are not. Marriage is always not the end point. Even if you get to that point, it becomes boring when you’re not ready. And I don't want to go into something I'm not ready for. But I love my children. I got three kids, 2 girls and 1 boy. To raise a child is a different ball game from making money. You know when you want to raise a child, it's not about dragging a child, it's about raising a child. Because that's still you when you're not there tomorrow. Whatever you put in there, that's what's going to show tomorrow. So the time, the bond, you teach them, you show them. I want to raise my children in a way that's nothing but love.
