What I Endured In 10 Year Relationship With Man That Didn't Still Marry Me - Ayo Adesanya

Long time Nollywood actresses Ayo Adesanya is the latest guest on With Chude and during her time on the show, Ayo opens up about the extreme physical and emotional abuse she underwent during a 10 year relationship she was in with a man that brought her so much heart ache. Speaking about her time in that relationship, Ayo Adesanya spoke honestly saying:

AYO ADESANYA: We were not married, but we were together for 10 years, and there was abuse in this relationship. This is the first time I'll be talking about it like this, but I really have to talk about it because, you know, I've been hiding it for so long.

There was physical violence. There was a lot of nagging, which is emotional. There was a lot. And you know, the thing is, you get beaten right now, and the next moment, the person is begging you. So you're always very confused. You don't know what's going on, and they're begging you and telling you, "I'm sorry for what I did. I didn't want to do that, but you made me do it. And now that I did it, I just want to say I'm sorry."

And you'll be like, "Okay, fine, he's not going to do it again," or, "Okay, fine, let me just stay because I don't want people to say this." And at the same time, he has apologized over and over. In fact, as a matter of fact, it was so bad that people in that area used to circle around the house and watch the drama going on because it could happen anywhere.

Thank God we didn’t have all these bloggers then, or we would not be here talking about this now. It was so bad that people in the area would be like, "No kill this woman oh! If you kill this woman, na problem." And I was still staying and feeling very strong, like, "I know I can do this," because the begging kept coming after.

Sometimes, I wore glasses, and people thought it was fashion, but it wasn't fashion—I was trying to hide. There was one time on location—Bimbo Akintola was there. We were filming. I went home to pick something because we were filming a few houses from where I stayed then with him. By the time I had come back, I had gotten my beating.

So I was trying to cover my face, and we were supposed to play a scene. I remember Bimbo Akintola was like, "Ayo, what's going on?" She was really pissed off that night. She was really angry. She actually wanted to cause a scene. People were very angry. A lot of people were very angry with me when I was in that relationship because it used to cause a lot of drama everywhere.
