"Millionaires don't use Astrology, billionaires do." ― J.P. Morgan - www.goodreads.com

Recently, a conspiracy theory on the sinking of the Titanic was doing the rounds on facebook. The article suggested, like many before, that JP Morgan, an American financier, was responsible for the sinking of the Titanic.

One of the paragraphs in that article really sparked my interest when the author said that no members of the Rothschild or Rockerfeller family were on board.

So, why is that even remotely important?

Whilst the conspiracy theory article postulated that there were no Rothchilds, or Rockerfellers on board for the sailing, The First Class Passenger list confirms that a Mr & Mrs Rothschild were on board, when it sank in the north Atlantic Ocean. After a bit more research, I don't think they were involved in the formation of a centralised banking system for America, and this was probably a co-incidence.

By way of background, in 1910 there was an important meeting on Jekyll Island, off the coast of Georgia to discuss the formation of the third bank of America, a centralized banking system. This idea had built up resistance in the 19th Century.

In attendance at that meeting were representatives for the Rockefeller empire including Nelson Aldrich and Frank Vanderclip. For J.P. Morgan Henry Davidson, Charles Norton, and Benjamin Strong were representatives. For the Rothchilds (European Banking Empire) Paul Warburg was in attendance.

None of these gentlemen were on the First Class passenger list, displayed at the Titanic Museum in Southampton, UK.

It was suggested that JP Morgan had the motive to sink the Titanic because on board were three powerful people who were against his idea for the US Federal Reserve as a centralized banking system.

The wealthy opponents to JP Morgan’s vision of the US Federal Reserve, were invited on board for its maiden voyage. They were John Aster, Isador Strauss & Benjamin Guggenheim.

JP Morgan was expected to join them and the article posed the question: “DID YOU KNOW? The man who funded the building of the titanic, J. P. Morgan, cancelled his long-awaited journey just hours before its proposed departure?”

In 1902, The White Star Line was bought by the International Mercantile Marine Co. (IMM), owned by the American banker John Pierpont Morgan. My research on Wikipedia revealed that he hoped to obtain a monopoly of the North Atlantic route by buying several shipping companies, but the acquisition of the White Star Line was the ‘Jewel in the Crown’.

Now, this is incredible:

It was said that in order to close the deal, JP Morgan offered the shareholders of The White Star Line, ten times the value of the profits generated in 1900, which proved to be a very good year for the company.

The existing majority shareholders, the Ismay family, were initially reluctant to accept, knowing that Thomas Ismay would have radically opposed the idea if he were still alive. However, J. Bruce Ismay, a family member, ultimately agreed with the shareholders. His brother, as well as two of the five other directors of Ismay, Imrie & Company left the company at this time.

The First Class Passenger list held at the Titanic Museum in Southampton lists Mr J Bruce Ismay + Servant on board. (Titanic facts.com) As Chairman of the White Star Line, he survived the sinking and died in 1937. His reputation, however, was severely damaged by being branded a ‘coward’.

The Blue Riband

It was suggested that RMS Titanic and her slightly older sister, RMS Olympic were designed to compete with the Cunard liners Lusitania and Mauretania, for the prestigious Blue Riband, racing to reduce the time it took to sail across the Atlantic.

Both the Cunard Liners were designed and built as record breakers, both held the coveted “Blue Riband” for the fastest Atlantic crossing by a passenger liner. Titanic was competing to be the first to achieve this accolade and thus propel itself into the record books.

It was widely known that the Ship then headed into an iceberg-field at full speed with less than half the required lifeboats, and no red signal flares.

Ironically, less than a year later, now that the wealthy opposition was out of the way, the federal reserve was created and USA was turned into an incorporated business, with its own business ID number, ’28 U.S.C. 3002 15.”

So, What About the Astrology?

Firstly, I would like to say that many astrologers don’t consider the fixed stars, these seem to be mainly used in Arabic Astrology.

One of the prominent fixed stars in the launching of this ship on her maiden voyage, (31 May 1911 in Belfast) was ‘Scheat’ in the last few degrees of Pisces, the planet Mars, (forthright, courageous and war-like) was conjunct this fixed star in Titantic’s horoscope. According to the Astrologer, Ebertin, it has a lot to do with accidents, floods and shipwrecks.

At the time of the accident, the moon had moved closer to this fixed Star being at 25.47deg, and by the time the ship slid under the icy waters, it was applying to the degree, but still not exact, and also in a square to the planet Pluto (Ruler of the 8th House of Death and Lord of the Underworld).

The Moon, in the 11th house of Groups of People, is conjunct the fixed star Procyon, which according to tradition shows some sort of impulsiveness. It can portend to riches, but then some may fall from a high position. The Moon was in the water sign of Cancer, which it rules, so was strong ... and, with an applying trine to Mars — (fiery and impulsive) reckless speed and risk taking took precedent over caution and safety.

The planet Saturn (also known as the grim reaper) was in Taurus, conjunct a retrograde Mercury in the 8th house of Birth, Death and Rebirth.

With Jupiter in Scorpio opposite Saturn — Jupiter is known to expand everything. Possibly one of the reasons for the bombastic exaggerated claims, these became apparent with the over estimating of the safety of the ship moving full steam ahead (speeding-Jupiter) even with warnings of icebergs.

This linked into a massive disaster, and huge loss of life. Jupiter was also inconjunct, (at a tense angle) with Mars, the traditional ruler of Scorpio and the 8th house of death, creating a disaster strewn web of aspects.

At the time of the sinking, the sign of Capricorn was on the Ascendent. Saturn rules Capricorn and is associated with cold, ice and darkness, reputation and our standing in the World.

When the ship finally sank and disappeared under the water, the Sun and Mercury were square (an incompatible aspect) to the Capricorn Ascendant further showing the coldness of this unimaginable disaster.

The disaster occurred on April 14th under a Balsamic Moon — (in the dark phase of the moon) when the ship hit an iceberg just before midnight. The darkest time during a Moon cycle is before a New Moon making visibility very poor, unlike the light from a building Full Moon.

Travel during a Balsamic Moon makes visibility much more difficult and over a dark ocean in the middle of the night, this might explain why the iceberg wasn’t seen.

Not only was this a dark moon, but there was also fog and poor visibility (symbolized by Neptune, nebulous) with a menacing retrograde Mercury. (Retrograde Mercury is unable to express itself clearly and is given to all sorts of misunderstandings and muddles).

Mercury was in an incompatible square to Neptune (Roman God of the Sea) when Titanic hit the iceberg and there was a building Solar Eclipse to compound the calamity.

A retrograde Mercury indicates issues with messages and miscommunication. Its ironic that the tragedy was made worse by the backlog of telegraph/wireless messages as the wireless was out of action and unavailable for a few days, during the Mercury retrograde.

The warning messages about the large icebergs ahead were ignored and apparently, were not reporting to the bridge on time. These warnings could have stopped the ship from moving full steam ahead as they never anticipated icebergs would be hazardous to the ‘unsinkable Titanic’.

With Uranus, the unexpected tragedy came on suddenly and was hidden, unseen around the dark of the moon. The iceberg was not seen until the last minutes. By then, it was too late to take evading action and steer the ship away to safety.

Also, the optimism about the reward of the Blue Riband, if won, would raise the profile of the ship to one of the fastest ways to cross the Atlantic at the time. By reducing the time, it took for ship to cross the Atlantic and by travelling even faster, it would promote the Titanic as the fastest transatlantic liner — The Titanic was racing towards disaster.

On April 14th, the night of the collision with the iceberg, the Pisces Moon and Venus in Aries were in an incompatible square to the planet Pluto in the sign of Gemini, with Mars in Cancer showing the emotional intensity around the incident. The accident happened under a Mars-Pluto conjunction — absolute tragedy.

In conclusion

The accusation directed towards JP Morgan can’t be substantiated, he may have seen something in the astrology to give him some confidence, but we will never know.

Writers like myself, continue to be fascinated by the follies and plans of the rich and powerful — and in a world full of natural disasters, it seems foolish to squander our good Karma on power plays.

Thank you for reading to … the End
