This story between shohan & chaity ( unspoken love)

Shohan had always noticed Chaity. She wasn’t the loudest in the room or the one who demanded attention, yet to him, there was something extraordinary about her. It wasn’t just her beauty—it was the little things: the way her eyes sparkled when she spoke passionately about something, or how her laugh seemed to linger in the air like a melody you wanted to hear again. What struck him the most, though, was her ability to listen, to understand the pauses between words, and to make others feel seen, even in silence.

But Shohan never said anything. He couldn’t. He didn’t know how to tell her about the feelings that had been building inside him for so long without ruining their friendship.

For years, Shohan and Chaity had been close friends. They shared secrets, laughter, and dreams. Yet, no matter how close they were, there was always an invisible boundary between them. They were friends, but nothing more. Shohan longed for something more, but he couldn’t bring himself to cross that line. He feared it would change everything, possibly ending the bond they had built over the years.

Every time Shohan saw Chaity laughing with someone else or sharing stories about her dreams, it hurt. He’d catch himself watching her, imagining what it would be like to be the one to make her smile, to be the one she confided in most. But he never said anything. He stayed silent, quietly hoping that one day, somehow, she might notice him differently.

Then, one evening, everything almost changed.

It was a crisp, quiet night when they sat together on a park bench. The sky was painted with hues of orange and pink as the sun dipped below the horizon, and the first city lights flickered on in the distance. As they always did, Chaity talked about her dreams—the places she wanted to visit, the future she hoped to build. But tonight, Shohan’s heart ached more than usual. He longed to be part of those dreams, to be the one who shared those adventures with her. But he stayed silent, listening, his heart breaking with every word.

Chaity paused mid-sentence, her gaze softening as she turned to look at him. “You know, Shohan,” she began, her voice quieter than usual, “I’ve always wondered why you never tried to be more than just my friend. You’re always so kind, always there when I need you. It’s like you care about me more than anyone else does.”

Shohan’s heart skipped a beat. Her words hung in the air between them, and for the first time, he realized that she had noticed. All this time, he had been trying to keep his feelings hidden, but she saw through it. His love for her wasn’t just friendship—it was deeper, more complicated. But could he admit it? Could he tell her how he felt without ruining everything?

He felt a lump form in his throat as he struggled to find the right words. This was his chance. This was the moment he could tell her everything. But the fear of losing her, of destroying the delicate balance between them, made him freeze. What if, by confessing, he ruined everything? What if she didn’t feel the same way?

Instead of admitting his feelings, Shohan smiled softly, hiding the ache in his chest. “I care about you, Chaity. More than you know. But sometimes… sometimes it’s better not to say everything we feel. Sometimes, it’s enough just to be there. To quietly stand by your side.”

Chaity’s smile faltered slightly as she looked at him, searching his face. For a moment, Shohan thought she might press him for more, but she didn’t. Instead, she nodded gently, her eyes filled with understanding.

“I think I understand,” she said quietly, her voice a soft whisper. “And I’m grateful for that, Shohan. Truly.”

The moment stretched on, and for a long time, neither of them spoke. The weight of unspoken words lingered between them, and Shohan felt the tension, the delicate line between them that neither of them was willing to cross. He wanted to speak, to tell her how he felt, but deep down, he knew that some things were better left unsaid.

As the night grew colder, Shohan walked Chaity home. The silence between them was comfortable, but heavy. When they reached her door, she smiled up at him, her eyes warm, unaware of the storm of emotions swirling in his heart. With a soft wave, she went inside, leaving Shohan standing there, his feelings buried deep inside.

Shohan walked away, his heart heavy, but there was a strange sense of peace within him. He may never be the one to share her dreams or the one she leaned on, but as long as he could be there—quietly, from afar—he would be okay. He would always be there for her, even if it meant loving her in silence.
