With the onset of the second wave of COVID-19, India is dealing with one of the worse crises of all time. There have been tremendous loss of lives and livelihoods and the tragedy seems to take a more frightening turn with every new day. People are anxious and are struggling with both their physical and mental health. All in all, it is really a difficult time for the entire country. But the unbelievable resilience of human beings is triumphing over the pandemic and how..!

Individuals, mostly those in their late 20s who are already exhausted balancing their professional and personal lives and even elderly people have come forward to conquer the deadly virus. From putting in generous efforts to provide home-made food for the COVID infected patients, reciting poems and narrating stories to lift up their spirits, forwarding jokes and memes to uplift their moods to arranging medical equipment like oxygen cylinders directly or indirectly by amplifying needs of patients through various social media platforms and donating a part of their earnings to relief funds , humans are helping each other overcome this calamity in every possible way ever. Frontline workers like doctors, nurses, police, ambulance drivers, janitors, pharmacists, scientists, soldiers, bankers, teachers, news-reporters psychologists etc. are working harder than ever to ensure the well-being of the entire population. There are exemplary stories highlighting the unshakeable courage of humans like a doctor having lost both her parents to COVID shifted to the COVID ward to help treat other patients, an elderly couple having lost their only son to COVID are arranging transport for COVID patients, recovered people donating their plasma to save others' lives, NGOs and child and animal welfare organizations working round the clock to take care of the kids and pets left alone in this world due to the virus taking away the lives of their families, and almost 30 lactating mothers coming forward to breastfeed an infant whose mother succumbed to the virus. There is increasing awareness among people even in the most remote areas about the importance of masks and social distancing. Many people have also taken up the herculean task of urging even the most reluctant persons to get vaccinated, highlighting its innumerable benefits which easily surpass its after-effects if any. While newspapers are filled with news of deaths and devastation, the messaging feeds are filled with wholesome messages like "Get well soon", "We are all by your side always", "Here's the best joke you'll read today!", "Binge watch this series tonight- it is really amazing", "Check out the playlist I made for you", "Drink lots of water" among the numerous others. It is extremely heartwarming to see people lifting up other people and not letting them lose and highly inspirational to watch how Homo sapiens have put up a united front against this catastrophe. Though the negativity all around is truly overwhelming, the positive attitude of the people seems to be the light that will shine through this darkness.

It is undoubtedly the indomitable spirit of humans which proves that "Hope can move mountains". This spirit refuses to bow down and give up. Humans have historically aced through all the difficulties if they stood together throughout the test of time. Humans have survived through wars, famines, explosions, terrorist attacks, plagues and will survive through this virus too- just by holding on a little more and being there for each other. Though humans like to wage wars against nature and against mankind, it is in these times of tragedy, that they come together and display the best version of the human race. Humans have sinned a lot through the years but it is at times of such plight that all their mistakes seem a lot smaller than their sacrifices and achievements. Humanity is at its best during the worst times and it'll surely lead us along the way to a brighter tomorrow.
