The 7 Types of Gift-Givers
Have you ever receieved a gift with strings attached? Or maybe someone gave you a DIY gift, consisting of actual string and glue? Even though it's "made from the heart," it's falling apart. We all give gifts in different ways and have different giving personalities. I have encountered these seven different types of givers. Let me know which one you are or have come across! (Listed below are the humorous and negative ones. I did not include the thoughtful and loving gift-givers which of course, do exist).

My boyfriend and I have been together for a while now, and have definitely left the honeymooning period. When he doesn’t put the seat down, I no longer find his forgetfulness endearing, and when I make us 30 minutes late *again* because I took too long getting ready, he no longer thinks it cute that I care so much about my winged liner being perfect.

Spread the Holiday Queer!
Many businesses have faced hardships this year. Yet, when you dig deeper, you will see that small business owners were given the short end of the stick during 2020. News is shared of several small businesses being in survival mode this year. Unlike bigger retailers (I am looking at you Amazon), these small business owners do not have BILLIONS in the bank. So yes, I believe shopping with a small business would be a grand idea for this holiday season. Furthermore, I want to take it a step further. Minorities also have a hard time during this season and if you are a minority business owner, the struggle is even more real. Being part of the LGBTQ+ community, I would love to see queer business owners strive this holiday season. So, I challenge you to shop the following 5 businesses and help spread the holiday queer!

The Boy with the Teacup Tattoo
I have seven tattoos, but the one people seem most eager to see is the teacup on my ankle. They seem to appreciate the lengths to which I have gone to declare my love of tea. I do love tea; in fact it is one of my favourite things. However, this is not why I have adorned myself with its famed receptacle. And, no, it isn't because Ed Sheeran or Louis Tomlinson has one either. But, as it's quite a long story, I often just don't correct people when they assume as much. However, it's nice to have an opportunity such as this to explain the full tale.

Being a Xennial in 2020
What Is a Xennial? Pronounced: “zen-knee-el.” A quick search of Wikipedia will give you the definition of a Xennial as any person who was born from the late 1970’s to as late as 1985. We are the micro-generation caught between Generation X and the Millennial generation. This is because we were born at the very end of one and the very start of the next. We grew up a lot like most of Generation X, but then awoke to a world of drastic change; just as we entered into adulthood.

Triple Threat: Being an LGBT+ Black Female (+ in a STEM Discipline)
In theatre, being a thriple threat means being able to sing, dance, and act. Although I did do theatre for a year in high school and have years of history earning gold stars on Just Dance, the only part of that criteria I meet is being able to act, and that's being generous to myself. For me, being a triple threat has nothing to do with my talents and more to do with my identity: Black, Lesbian, and Female.
