The One Written in My Destiny*

Choosing with the Heart, Accepting with Wisdom

*Title:* *The One Written in My Destiny*

In a small village near Abbottabad, lived a young woman named *Zunaira*. She was known for her calm demeanor, intelligent mind, and strong sense of self-respect. Her parents had begun to receive several marriage proposals for her, as she had reached the age where society expected her to settle down.

But Zunaira wasn’t someone who rushed into life decisions. To her, marriage wasn’t a transaction — it was a *sacred bond*, a lifelong partnership, and a reflection of two families joining hearts. She had only one request: *“Let me choose someone I can talk to, respect, and grow with.”*

Her parents, though traditional, trusted her maturity.

One evening, her aunt brought a proposal. The young man, *Haroon*, was an engineer in a city, had a good income, and came from a well-known family. But during the meeting, Haroon barely looked at Zunaira. He boasted of his job, his car, and made it clear that he expected his future wife to “adjust silently” into his routine.
After the guests left, her mother asked, “What do you think?”

Zunaira calmly replied, “He’s well-settled, but I don’t see kindness in his words.”

More proposals followed.

One was *Arsalan*, a doctor with a calm nature but he was unsure if he could support a wife who wanted to continue her studies. Another, *Bilal*, was polite but admitted that his mother would make all household decisions, and he wouldn’t interfere.

Weeks passed.

Then came a modest proposal from a man named *Hamza*. He wasn’t from a wealthy family. He worked as a school teacher in the nearby town, cared for his widowed mother, and lived a simple life. When Zunaira met him, she found no pride in his voice, but something else — *genuine honesty*.

He spoke clearly, “I don’t have much in wealth, but I live with peace. I want a wife who walks with me, not behind me. I value education, and if you wish to study further, I will support you.”

Zunaira smiled softly. “And your mother?”

“She’s my heart,” he said, “and she’s longing for a daughter, not a servant.”
That night, Zunaira sat quietly by her window. She thought about all the men she had met. She wasn’t chasing wealth, nor status. She simply wanted a *partner in character* — someone who would respect her voice, stand by her, and share both joys and struggles.

She told her parents, “He is not the richest, but he is *rich in values*. He listens before he speaks, and he respects before he expects. I want a home where peace lives.”

Her parents agreed, touched by her clarity.

The wedding was simple. No extravagant halls, no long guest lists — just two families joining with open hearts. After marriage, Hamza kept every word he promised. He encouraged Zunaira to enroll in a teaching diploma, supported her career, and together they balanced their home with mutual respect.

In time, Zunaira often helped Hamza at his school. The students loved her. They became a couple known not just for their love — but for how they uplifted others.

One day, an old friend asked her, “How did you choose the right one?”

Zunaira smiled, “I didn’t choose with my eyes. I chose with my heart and mind. I looked for *peace, not pride*. And that made all the difference.”

*Moral:*
Marriage is not about finding perfection in wealth or appearance. It’s about finding a partner who shares your values, respects your dreams, and walks beside you through every season of life. Choose someone whose heart speaks the same language as yours — and together, build a home of understanding, not expectation
