It was supposed to be just a regular babysitting job when the unexpected happened!

Why can’t you just be more reliable and accountable for once?” said Saige.

“What do you mean, I do all the elaborate work.” said Aria.

“Regardless, I better see you at Ms. Keller’s house at 7:30 tonight.”

As Saige was walking up to Ms. Keller’s house, she was frightened by the fact that there was no sight of Aria or her car. While she was about to ring the doorbell, she was hoping Aria would answer.

“Hello, Saige!” said someone in a squeaky high-pitch voice.

Right away, Saige knew it wasn’t Aria as Aria’s voice was not so squeaky.

“Oh, Hello Ms. Keller, have you by any chance seen Aria?” Saige said in a low disappointed voice.

“No, not recently. Why?” she replied with a response that was questionable at best.

“No reason, just wondering.” Saige said in a downhearted tone.

“The kids are on the couch watching television. There’s chicken hotdish in the crockpot, if they don’t behave call me, my number is on the fridge.” Ms. Keller said in a rush.

As Saige walked into the house, it was shear pandemonium. The number of thoughts running through Saige’s head, were astronomical. “Where is Aria?” Saige thought.

After four brutal hours the boys finally laid down and went to bed, then Ms. Keller came home.

As Ms. Keller walked through the door, she insisted that she give Saige a ride home. Saige politely declined her offer while Ms. Keller was writing out a check for her. Little did they both know there was a few extra zeros on the check.

Once Saige got home, she wanted to go right to bed but thought she should put the check in her little black book.

“$20,000!!!” Saige screamed.

Saige automatically thought to call Ms. Keller, but a thought in the back of her head told her not to.

The next day, Saige called Aria so they could meet up at Central Park, the most popular park in New York, to talk about last night.

A cool breeze nipped at Saige’s nose, Aria appeared out of nowhere and sat next to Saige. Saige then took a deep breath and broke the ice between the two.

“I am very disappointed in you Aria. Those kids were rambunctious.”

Aria then cut her off and said, “It couldn’t have been that bad.”

Saige mumbled, “You’re right, but at least I got $20,000.”

Aria looked at her with bewilderment, “Wait…$20,000?!”

Saige felt her face turning red. She couldn’t believe that she just told Aria about the 20k.

“Saige, speak up now, you have a lot of explaining to do.”

“Oh sorry, I meant twenty dollars.” Saige proclaimed.

Aria then saw the black book and grabbed it immediately.

“Aria, give that back!”

As Aria flipped through page by page trying to find the 20k check, Saige was chasing her around the park.

“Here it is!” Aria exclaimed.

As Saige’s hand whipped through the thin cool air to reach for the check, Aria paused and Saige grabbed the check, but before they knew it, the paper was in two.

Saige then was yelling at Aria and blaming her for this catastrophe.

“Wait, if we yell at each other it’s going to make this problem worse.” Aria said calmly.

Saige agreed, and they both walked back to the tree. They decided to go to Ms. Keller’s house and discuss the situation. As Saige and Aria walked up to Ms. Keller’s house anxiously, she opened the door before they got a chance to knock. Ms. Keller could tell that they were nervous and invited them in for tea.

After they told her she wasn’t astonished. Ms. Keller told them she meant to put $20,000.

“I meant to put that there to see how honest you were.” Ms. Keller said.

“Oh!” Saige and Aria said at once, in a slow voice.

“That makes a lot more sense.” Aria said as her and Saige, were both laughing
