The Dream Date of a Lifetime with Great Wine

The air is crisp and fresh as Jade awakened for another day at work. A young ambitious single woman living in Atlanta Georgia. A great place for dreams to happen, although they do not happen overnight. The road for Jade is no different. A degree in Astro Engineering with no glimpse of her dream career in sight, and bad credit to boot. Jade was stuck making ends meet as a Car Saleswoman. Not glamorous or fulfilling at all. There is no adventure or rewarding feeling to complete her professional life. Nothing at all like the life she intended. Every day, week, month, year was a daunting fact of more time going by not living her dream.

Nevertheless, Jade carries herself along to work at Bliss Car Lot for another Monday. She arrives to work at her usual time; 9:30am sharp. She got in her office and started organizing materials for a day’s work. 15 minutes later Jade’s co-worker Nathan knocks on her door asking if she can take a customer who just arrived on the lot and needs assistance. Nathan said he would take him, but Larry (their boss) just called him in his office. Jade agrees to go out and help the customer. As she gets around the corner to see the customer, her heart drops. He was gorgeous, from his head to his toes. Something like what you see in the movies and magazines. Totally drool-worthy to say the least. Beautifully chiseled chocolate skin, green eyes, and a low temp fade haircut. A tailor-made Armani suit and complimenting Stacy Adams shoes. She walked up to him as she felt her knees buckle with every step, starting to perspire in a light missed that felt like it covered her whole body.

Jade introduces herself and shakes the gentleman’s hand. The man replies, “Hello my name is Lawrence, and I would like to take a look at the Lincoln Navigator in the front of the lot.” Jade’s eyes rose with surprise because she was saving up for that truck. It was her dream truck and she only needed $2,000 to purchase the truck. She got him the keys and they proceeded to take it on the test drive. During the drive Jade informed Lawrence on all the stats, prices, and embellishments the truck comes with. As she spoke of the car her excitement filled her statements making them not only facts, but enthusiastic expressions. Lawrence noticed the joy in her heart as she spoke of the truck. Lawrence asks her, “Jade you like this car, don’t you? You speak with such pizzazz when you speak of this truck, you must have one?” As he looked her up and down, tracing her curves with his eyes in a nonchalant fashion. Lawrence likes what he sees. Jade replied, “No I don’t have one yet, in fact I was planning on buying this one. It’s my dream car and I almost have enough to purchase it.” Lawrence replied well, I certainly can’t buy this truck now, with a snickering laugh. Jade assured him he could purchase the truck. She said, “it’s a truck that comes a dime a dozen, I’ll just get another one when I got up the rest of the money.” The test drive came to an end as they approached the lot. They got out of the truck and Lawrence asked Jade if they can test drive another truck. Jade kindly obliged the request. Sure, which one would you like to try. Lawrence said, “the Escalade right there.” Jade said, “sure let me go get the keys.”

She went and got the keys and they started out on that test drive. While on the test drive Jade began to inform Lawrence on that truck’s specifications. Lawrence stopped Jade and said, “I’ll take it, and are you seeing anyone? Jade said, “No I am not, why do you ask?” Lawrence said, “I’d like to take you out sometime.” Jade happily agreed. They returned to the dealership to do the paperwork and exchanged numbers planning to go out to dinner Friday night. The anticipation of the event had Jade pondering her chances with him all week. She never thought she would be wanted by a man like him. Such a corporate, well established gentleman. Totally opposite of what she was synonymous with dating. Men such as drug dealers and gangsters. So, this was like the Disney Princess being sought out after by the Prince.

Jade and Lawrence spent the week texting and exchanging phone calls, keeping in contact, and getting to know each other throughout the week. Learning each other and breaking that awkward barrier before the date. They had instant chemistry and the attraction was inevitable. They talked about anything and everything so effortlessly. Exchanging questions such as favorite foods, drinks, movies, and music. Lawrence sent Jade a text Thursday night asking her, “I know you said the other night you like wine, what’s your favorite kind?” Jade replied, “I love the Merlot, and this company called Bright Cellars has a fabulous selection. You can customize them to fit your pallet and everything. It’s so cool and delicious.” Lawrence took that mental note and ran with it. He knew some people that knew the owners of the company and had a case shipped to him expeditiously. They arrived just in time for the date the following day. Lawrence just knew this would be a wow factor for Jade that would make her see just how interested he is.

Friday night arrived. At 6:00 sharp Lawrence had a Phantom Maybach parked out front of Jade’s house waiting to chauffeur her to their date. The date was a surprise to Jade. All she knew was to where something nice. The date took place on Lawrence’s boat. A 48’ Hatteress yacht. He pulled out all the stops for this date. Jade loved boats; she was around boats such as this one her whole life growing up on the Eastern coastline. Lawrence had a violinist play as Jade approached and boarded the yacht to represent Jade’s love of classical music. As well as playing well into the night. The dinner was prepared and served by a world class chef. A meal that perfectly complimented the Bright Cellar Wine. When Lawrence presented her with the wine, her eyes got so big in shock. She said, “How did you get this so fast? You know you have to order it, and have it shipped to you? “I did”, Lawrence stated with a flirtatious smile. After dinner they enjoyed movies on the back-deck’s theater, sipping wine all night. They would laugh and tell stories, exchanging flirtatious banter and body language throughout the night. It was truly a memorable experience for them both. Their bond was undeniable, authentic, and strong.

By the end of the night Lawrence felt confident to give Jade her surprise gift he had got for her. He blindfolded her at the end of the movie and guided her to the dock. Jade began to become nervous as she did not know what was to happen next. Lawrence positioned Jade in front of a huge 10ft x 20ft gift box. He uncovered her blindfold and she gasped in shock at the enormous gift in front of her. Lawrence told her to open it pointing at a ribbon to pull. Jade pulled the ribbon allowing all four sides of the box to fall unveiling her dream Lincoln Navigator. She instantly started to cry. She was overwhelmed with joy and excitement, and in complete disbelief this was happening. Lawrence told jade, “Well aren’t you going to get in and enjoy your new truck. I hope you like it.” Jade looked at him like are you serious how could I not enjoy myself this is my dream ca… Before Jade could finish that sentence her eyes glance in the rear-view mirror to find cases of Bright Cellar Merlot wine. She jumped out of the car and ran to the back trunk to see all the bottles of her favorite wine in a year supply. Jade was truly grateful for her gifts, as tears constantly slid down her face. The couple hugged a passionate and affectionate embrace.

It was the start of a world wind romance that was completely unexpected but necessary. They were sure that a relationship was something they mutually wanted. Lawrence and Jade didn’t want the night to end. Yet why should they; there was plenty of wine and romance to last. They talked about meeting the families. How they should Christen every experience with a Bright Cellar Wine selection. That night they crowned it their “Good Luck Potion”. They felt the wine helped them seal the notion of dating each other, just off the great time they had on this first date. So, they wanted every event in the relationship to have that wine in it as well. It was “their thing”, and they loved it. Bright Cellar Merlot went from being just a suggested favorite to a relationship ritual in the blink of an eye.

Jade knew from this date if you want to achieve anything in life you really do need to go outside your comfort zone. Allow things to happen. If you can step back and take fear of failure and rejection out of the equation you end up living your best life. She loved that Lawrence made her see that. It was like he was truly sent to her. Maybe to give her the push she needed to put her dreams to reality. Jade thought with Lawrence and Bright Cellar Wine, life really is elegant, spontaneous, and rewarding.
