“The Dawn of War, The Fall of Innocence, The Price of Freedom” S4 Chapter = 04 Part = 01.
“Shadows of War, Seeds of Vengeance”.

The world beyond the walls had always been a mystery for those raised in Paradis. But for the people of Marley, the story was different. They knew of their enemies — the “devils” of the island — and for decades, their children had been raised to inherit the Titans and wage war in Marley’s name. Among them were Gabi Braun, Falco Grice, and the other young candidates who dreamed of proving themselves worthy of the power they had been taught to admire and fear.
War was a cycle that never ended. Even before Paradis revealed itself to the world, Marley had enemies on every side. The nations beyond their borders watched with hungry eyes, eager to topple the empire that had ruled through Titan power for generations. And so, Marley fought.
In a desolate battlefield against the Mid-East Allied Forces, Marley’s soldiers unleashed the power of the Titans. The Armored Titan, Reiner Braun, dove into the fray, his body cloaked in hardened plates, tearing through defenses with brute force. Beside him, the Cart Titan and Jaw Titan darted across the battlefield, supporting the soldiers below. Above them all descended the terrifying Beast Titan, Zeke Yeager, whose stones rained like artillery fire, crushing fortifications with every throw.
But even this power — the same force that once trampled humanity into submission — no longer held the same terror it once did. Marley had grown complacent, and the world had begun to catch up. Anti-Titan artillery, steel weapons strong enough to pierce armor, thunderous cannons that could wound even Reiner… they were proof that the age of Titans was waning.
The war ended in Marley’s victory, but at a terrible cost. Its soldiers, its warriors, and even its Titans had suffered. And amidst the cheering of Marleyan generals, shadows stirred in silence. For far away, a man with dark hair and tired eyes had already crossed the sea.
Eren Yeager had come to Marley.
The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing
In the heart of Liberio, life went on. Families gathered, soldiers marched, and Eldian children sang patriotic songs that praised Marley. To most, the world was simple: Marley was salvation, and the island devils were their curse.
But for Falco Grice, doubt began to creep in. He saw the pain in Reiner’s eyes, the weight of his trauma, and wondered if there was more to the story than what Marley had told them.
One evening, Falco met a wounded soldier resting in the hospital. The man’s left leg was missing, his gaze distant, his voice calm but heavy with sorrow. He introduced himself simply as Kruger. Falco found comfort in speaking with him, never knowing the truth — that he was talking to the very man who would change the fate of the world.
“Falco,” Eren said quietly, almost fatherly, “sometimes, to break free from the cage you were born into… you have to be willing to fight. Not for others’ expectations. For your own freedom.”
Falco nodded, not understanding the depth of those words, not realizing they were coming from the boy who once swore to kill every Titan.
Reunion of Fates
Marley prepared for a grand festival — one that would gather leaders from across the world. It was a chance for them to demonstrate their strength, to assure their allies, and to send a message: the devils of Paradis would soon be crushed.
Reiner returned home, and in a quiet, tense reunion, he met the man he least expected. Eren Yeager sat before him.
The years had changed them both. Reiner, haunted and broken by guilt, and Eren, no longer the boy who dreamed of freedom but a man hardened by war and loss. Their conversation was heavy, every word carrying the weight of their shared sins.
“You and I are the same,” Eren told him, eyes burning with quiet rage. “We were born into this cursed world, forced to fight for reasons we never chose.”
Reiner trembled. He wanted to beg forgiveness, to scream that he had been nothing but a tool. But before he could, the ground began to tremble.
The Declaration of War
As the world’s leaders gathered, Willy Tybur, head of the Tybur family, took the stage. He revealed to all the truth of Marley and Eldia, of the sins of the past and the dangers of the future. His voice rose, bold and dramatic, as he declared war on Paradis Island.
At that very moment, below the stage, Eren extended his hand. His eyes flashed, and his voice whispered:
“If you declare war… then I will do the same.”
The ground erupted. Wood and stone exploded as the Attack Titan emerged from beneath the festival, his roar shaking the heavens. In one motion, Eren crushed Willy Tybur in his hand, blood raining over the horrified audience.
The War for Marley had begun.
The Clash of Titans
Chaos consumed Liberio. Civilians screamed as buildings collapsed, soldiers scrambled in terror, and Marley’s warriors rushed to retaliate.
Eren’s Titan form tore through the battlefield, ruthless and unrelenting. He faced the War Hammer Titan, a foe unlike any he had encountered. Its wielder conjured weapons of hardened Titan crystal — spears, hammers, spikes — each strike shaking the earth itself.
But Eren was relentless. Even as his body was pierced and torn, he fought with a ferocity that terrified both friend and foe. And when it seemed he would be overwhelmed, the soldiers of Paradis descended.
From the sky, maneuvering gear whistled through the air. Mikasa Ackerman struck with lightning speed, blasting thunder spears into Marley’s defenses. Armin, transformed into the Colossal Titan, erased half the harbor with one devastating blast. And amidst the chaos, Marley’s warriors — Reiner, Pieck, Porco — fought desperately to protect their home.
It was a battle of gods, one that shook the world itself.
The Weight of Freedom
In the end, Eren prevailed. The War Hammer Titan’s power became his own, absorbed through his merciless resolve. But victory was not without cost. Innocents lay dead, children orphaned, cities ruined.
Back on the airship, amidst blood and smoke, tensions ran high. Sasha Blouse laughed one last time before her life was cut short by Gabi Braun’s bullet. Her death pierced the hearts of her comrades, even as Eren, bloodied and tired, looked on with an expression unreadable.
Was this the price of freedom? Was this what he had become?
The Fall of Innocence
The world was no longer divided between humans and Titans, between freedom and captivity. It was divided between vengeance and survival. Eren’s path had set into motion a cycle that could no longer be stopped.
Reiner, broken but alive, stared at the boy he once called an enemy and saw a reflection of himself. Falco and Gabi, children who had once believed in Marley’s justice, now carried hatred of their own. And those who once followed Eren with blind loyalty now questioned the man he was becoming.
The dawn of war had come. And with it, innocence had fallen.
