“The Throne of Lies, The Truth of Freedom” S3 Chapter = 03.
“Shadows of Power, Light of Truth”.

The walls had always been humanity’s shield, but in their shadow lurked not only Titans — but men. Titans devoured bodies, but lies devoured hope. For years, soldiers believed their battle was only against the monsters beyond the gates. Season 3 revealed otherwise: the greatest threat to humanity was not outside, but within.
Eren Yeager, the boy who once shouted his vow to slaughter every Titan, now found himself chained, trapped by a new enemy — not the Titans he hated, but the crown itself. The monarchy that ruled from the shadows was rotted by fear and corruption. And the Survey Corps, branded as traitors, stood as the last defenders of freedom.
It began with shadows. One by one, the Corps realized they were being hunted — not by Titans, but by humans. Assassins lurked in alleys, soldiers turned their blades not outward but inward, and whispers of conspiracies filled the air. Among them rose one figure who carried the weight of blood and silence: Levi Ackerman.
For Levi, Season 3 was not a battle of ideals but of survival. His squad, chosen to guard Eren and Historia, was mercilessly hunted by the Anti-Personnel Control Squad, led by a ghost from Levi’s past — Kenny the Ripper. With pistols that fired thunder instead of swords, Kenny and his squad tore through rooftops and alleyways, a storm of bullets and smoke. Levi, the strongest soldier humanity had ever known, found himself fighting not Titans, but the darkness of the streets he once called home.
For Eren, it was a different prison. Captured by Rod Reiss, the true king hidden behind the throne, he was forced to confront the truth of his powers. Rod revealed that the Titans were not random monsters, but weapons forged from bloodlines and power. The Founding Titan — the key to humanity’s fate — lived within Eren. It had been stolen by his father, Grisha Yeager, who had devoured the Reiss family’s heir to pass it down to his son.
The truth was unbearable. Eren had cursed his father a thousand times for leaving him powerless as a child, for thrusting him into a world of death. Now he learned the greatest burden of all: his very existence had been forged in betrayal and blood.
Meanwhile, Historia — the quiet girl once known as Christa Lenz — found herself thrust into the storm. No longer the gentle cadet who smiled through suffering, she was revealed as Historia Reiss, the rightful heir to the throne. Rod Reiss, her father, sought to bind her to his will, to make her inherit the Founding Titan by devouring Eren.
The cavern beneath the Reiss Chapel became a crucible of destiny. Chains rattled as Eren begged to be eaten, his heart drowning in guilt. He believed himself unworthy of survival, cursed to carry a power that was never his to bear. For the first time, the boy who had sworn vengeance against the Titans begged for death.
But Historia rose.
With trembling hands, she shattered her father’s will. She rejected the chains of blood and duty, rejected the destiny forced upon her. When Rod Reiss transformed into a monstrous Titan, Historia chose not to follow, but to fight. With her comrades beside her, she claimed her place not as a puppet queen, but as a soldier of humanity.
The Survey Corps, hunted and broken, now fought not for survival, but for truth. Commander Erwin Smith, whose arm had been sacrificed in the pursuit of freedom, led them with cold resolve. To Erwin, every life lost was a stone in the path to truth. His eyes, burning with obsession, were fixed on one goal: to uncover the secrets buried in Eren’s basement in Shiganshina.
But first, they had to cleanse the rot within the walls.
Through cunning and sacrifice, Erwin exposed the corruption of the monarchy. The puppet king was dethroned, and Historia, the girl once afraid of herself, ascended as the true queen of humanity. With a raised fist and a crown upon her head, she promised not to rule from the shadows, but to fight alongside her people. Her coronation was not of ceremony, but of courage.
For the first time, humanity’s chains began to crack.
Yet freedom came with a price. The battle against Rod Reiss’s gargantuan Titan — a crawling abomination that dwarfed the walls themselves — was one of fire and fury. Soldiers hurled themselves against impossible odds, cannons roared, and flames consumed the night. In the end, it was Historia who struck the final blow, delivering the killing strike against her father’s twisted form.
The girl once defined by kindness and weakness had become the queen who carried humanity’s blade.
But victory was only the beginning.
The second half of Season 3 carried the Survey Corps back to where it all began: Shiganshina. The mission to retake Wall Maria was more than strategy — it was destiny. The truth lay in Eren’s basement, the key his father left behind, the answers to the questions that had haunted humanity for over a century.
What lay beyond the walls? Who created the Titans? Why was humanity trapped in this cage?
The battle for Shiganshina was a storm unlike any before. The Beast Titan, commander of Marley’s warriors, led an army of Titans against the Survey Corps. His stones shattered men like glass, his voice carried the weight of command, and his presence marked humanity’s darkest hour.
In that battle, Erwin Smith made his final stand. With death certain, he rallied his soldiers for one last charge, sending them into the jaws of the Beast Titan’s assault. His words burned into their hearts, not as promises of survival, but as the desperate cry of a leader who had sacrificed everything for the truth.
Levi, granted the chance by Erwin’s sacrifice, struck with fury unmatched, tearing into the Beast Titan with blades of vengeance. Yet victory slipped through his fingers, as Zeke — the Beast Titan — escaped.
And then came the moment that defined humanity’s fate: the choice between Armin and Erwin. Both lay on the brink of death, both carried the potential to change the world, but only one could inherit the Titan serum. Levi chose Armin, granting him the Colossal Titan’s power, while Erwin was allowed the peace of death after a lifetime of sacrifice.
When the dust cleared, Shiganshina was reclaimed. Humanity had taken back Wall Maria. And in the ruins of his home, Eren unlocked the basement.
The truth was unveiled.
The walls were not the last of humanity. Beyond the ocean lay another world — Marley, a nation that had enslaved Eldians and weaponized Titans. Humanity inside the walls was not alone; they were prisoners in a greater war. The Titans were not divine punishment, but tools of human cruelty.
The throne of lies had been shattered. The truth of freedom was revealed.
By the end of Season 3, Eren stood at the edge of the sea, waves crashing at his feet, eyes burning with determination. For the first time, he saw the horizon he had once dreamed of. Yet his heart was not filled with joy, but with fury.
“On the other side of the sea,” he whispered, “is freedom. That’s what I always believed. But… it’s not. It’s our enemies.”
The battle had only just begun.
