Don't Hate the Player, Hate the Game
Wow. Okay. Not sure how exactly this is supposed to start but let’s just jump right into it with a little introduction shall we? I am your not-so-average twenty something year old female who is living her best life. Living a life full of “hell yeah” moments. From the outside looking in, people might disagree with my beliefs and actions, but this is how I look at it: I’m living what are supposed to be the best years of my life. I want to make them fun, DUH. So yeah, I tend to do lots of fun stuff and often don’t think twice about the hearts I’ve broken or the people I’ve disappointed along the way. I must admit, although I wish I was, I wasn’t always like this. It took escaping a long, surface level relationship for me to open up and become this person.

What's the Deal with Relationships Today?
Recently, for whatever reason I started online dating again. I was on a few for a brief amount of time back when I was studying in New York a couple months ago. So I figured now that I'm in a completely different state (California) that should mean a whole new set of eligible males. Unfortunately though, to no surprise once again, I feel like I'm wasting my time. It seems like you either deal with the sex-driven jerks, ugly creepers, or guys that are simply just not for you on free sites. Or, you have to pay for quality service for quality guys on others, and being a college student option two really isn't an option. My thing is I'm someone who is twenty years old hoping to find a nice, good-looking guy, who isn't just after sex. Am I the only one who feels like that shouldn't be too much to ask?

"Technically Friends"
So, last semester I met a lot more people than the first, I believe, and I made friends with these boys or whatever. One of the boys was attractive to me, but my "friend" had called "dibs" on him first I guess, IDK. I really don't believe in the whole "dibs" thing anymore. I find it childish because it's like if you like someone, & you're single/they're single, then why can't anyone like them!? Anyways, I tried my best to fight back my physical, emotional, and intellectual attraction to this boy but I just could not. He's annoying as IDK what, childish, irritating, and rude, but something about him just drew me in. Like ewhhh what!? I can literally do sooo much better than him but why? Why was I feeling him in this way? Honestly, I low-key felt bad about it because my "friend" really liked him. She just didn't want to admit it. And also, I had some other "thing" going on with another boy, which is another completely different story. But back to what I was saying, I felt things (figuratively), between this boy and I. It was like I knew that deep beneath he's really this sweet person. But due to him being friends with this immature, disrespectful, hopeless romantic kid, it initiated his own immaturity and stupid actions.

Why Did I Even Have Interest?
Ahhhhh... where do I even begin? So guys, I do NOT have a "type," but I definitely have a certain kind of guy that I notice/spot out first and it's light skin guys with curly hair. NO I do not like just any guy with those two features, they have to be attractive to me too. I'm just very picky with guys in general. Anyways, I only found like two guys at my school attractive last year. This one boy who I just ended up being friends with him because he "only liked white girls," I wasn't confident enough to even confess my attraction, and plus his personality wasn't really that attractive to me. But that's whatever again. We cool nowadays. He's still attractive, but I don't like him like that. As for the other boy, I didn't know him that much, never talked to him, only seen him like once or twice & I was just like head over heels (figuratively).

You haven't lived if you've never heard the saying, "all that glitters is not gold." But have you heard the other portion that it could be something ugly covered in brass. That's what dating or even marrying a man with issues is like. Sure, on the outside they seem charming, responsible, respectful. They are everything you've ever dreamed of but one day they fall from the pedestal and you are surprised to find an ugly, fractured trophy covered in brass.

What do the lonely, and not hooked up do? The assault – rude. The overbearing demand on my money – rude. Nothing cute about a fat baby shooting arrows at people. Shoot something this way partner and watch what happens. Okay, I may be bitter! Nothing cute about some fuzzy red or pink animal with some plastic flowers and bow stapled to it. Animal cruelty. That’s what that is. Except for the year my baby saved his allowance to buy me one. That was the cutest bear EVER.
