Confessions to Mr. Perfect
I've kind of been around for years, and each year you got more and more handsome to me but I was never really thinking of you in a romantic way up until maybe 6-7 months ago. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to be that girl. I know you've been hurt, I'm good at reading people, plus other people felt as strongly about it as I did.

Love Untamed
Like most late nineties babies, my first crush was on Troy Bolton, followed by the boy who could get a perfect score playing guitar hero on expert. I longed to be Hilary Duff from A Cinderella Story, drew hearts around Nick on my Jonas Brothers poster, and belted "You Belong with Me" each night until my Taylor Swift CD was scratched beyond repair.

To the First Girl I've Ever Loved
I am a girl who has been confused about a lot of things. I’ve spent years confused about my sexuality, confused about who I am, where I belong and what I deserve, and I’ve always been ok with that, because who really knows the answers to those questions? It’s fine to still be figuring out who you are, it’s ok to always be searching for somewhere to call home but it’s not ok to accept less than you deserve. I have spent the last seven years in relationships which tore me down, trusting people I thought had the best intentions for me, only to have them tear the carpet from underneath me and leave me lying more vulnerable than before… but this isn’t a story about me, or the series of events that led me to where I am now. It’s a post about the girl who saved me. We are often encouraged to first allow time for self-love, because how can we pour our love into others if we have not yet filled our own cup, Francisco states that, “Perhaps we should love ourselves so fiercely that when others see it they know how it’s done.” However, she gives me more love than I could ever give myself. Each day she teaches me what I deserve and shows me what I am capable of giving in return.

After Death
There is always one call that can change a person’s life forever. You pick up the phone and hear those three words that shatter your Earth and existence in just one single moment. Those words are “ - has died." In that moment your body goes into shock, feeling hysterically numb, and if you loved this person a lot you find yourself falling into a depression you can’t seem to find your way out of. The endless pit of pain and how you want to end it all so you no longer have to grieve. It would all just dissipate.

Inarticulate Passion
"People are often NOT eloquent precisely about what moves them most. Half the time we aren't really sure what we mean, and if we are, we don't want to say it, and if we do, we can't find the words, and if we can, others aren't listening, and if they are, they don't understand... In fact, various failures to communicate can make the richest sort of dialogue, just as the most stunted language is sometimes the most revealing of character."–Janet Burroway.

He Broke Me, but I Love Him
Is it still love, if the person you "love" hurts you beyond your breaking point? I've been in many relationships. Good, bad, and ugly. When you don't receive that loving connection with a family member, you'll start looking for it in other things. For me, I found that love in guys. I didn't care how they treated me or what they did to me, or anyone else for that matter.

Three Little Words
With or without love in our lives we are impacted by it and how it changes us as we grow into complex human beings. Love is a broad topic that has no real definition. It is ever changing; however, it has always been able to impact people’s lives—those who have experienced it in their own lives and those who aren’t as fortunate. Either way love has been able to affect who they have become as adults. If one who has never had love in their life was finally shown it, it could change who they become in the future. Love is something that we spend our whole lives trying to find and yet most of us don’t even know what it is that we are looking for. What really is love? That is a question that has many answers. Love is a remarkable feeling that you can’t put into worlds. It is a feeling that is different for all who are lucky enough to find it in their lives. This just shows the power behind this four letter word that we all take for granted.

Sharing Is Caring
It was a cold evening at the airport and I was sitting across an elderly couple (looked to be in their 60s) in the waiting room. I don't know why I started staring at them, but something called my attention. It was the way she took care of him. She was a tall, skinny, grey-haired, black woman, wearing a pair of high waisted jeans and a sweatshirt. Her figure was classic and charming like the 70s; he was a chubby, tall, grey-haired, white man dressed in formal trousers, square printed long sleeved shirt, and suspenders—a lovely vintage couple.
