humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Enterprising or Sour Grapes
McAllister woke in a sour mood. His day, his week, hell his whole month hadn’t gone well. It seemed today wasn't going to be any different. It was annoying and decidedly unsatisfying. He wasn’t used to things going wrong going badly or going awry. It was beyond frustrating.

What are human rights violations?
Once we fully appreciate what human rights are, we can understand what counts as a violation of them. We can, for example, turn to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, formulated in 1948, and read a whole list of rights of individuals that governments are urged not to violate.

The World Is Complicated
"I like to think I’m a pretty optimistic person. I’ve always tried to look on the bright side of any situation and work as hard as possible to see solutions to problems all the way through. I like the idea of being able to spread positive energy to those around me and alleviate my friend’s stress."

Beyond the Break Lie My Broken Dreams
He paddles out of the calm marina into the dark open ocean chop that chills him despite his thick wet suit. His long board cuts cleanly through the water with each powerful stroke. Four hundred yards away a small red light atop a buoy bobs in time to the current. He pulls hard towards it. A typhoon south of Kyushu is pushing huge waves over the break, but he can’t see them in the early morning darkness yet. He can hear the roar though. Out to sea the horizon is just starting to turn blue.

The Naked Surf
Harvey stood on the cold winter beach in Northern California, white longboard pointing to the sky and bare ass pointing towards the bluff behind him. He watched the waves roll into the bay, breathed the air, noted how the wind passed his ears, absorbed the weak winter sunlight, and shifted the coarse sand between his toes. He also watched the violent vibrations running down the length of the brand new pier that sat in the bay as an ugly insult to the ocean. Large waves slammed into it and rolled onto the beach. Observations finished he entered the frigid water and began paddling out to the break.

Eat, Drink, Be Merry
The club pulsated, jolting violently like it was on its 12th cup of coffee. Seizure inducing strobe lights, blaring, repetitive techno music, and a dance floor packed tighter than a world cup soccer stadium made the club feel alive. Alive, and pumped full of adrenaline. A misty cloud of sweat loomed above the vigorously dancing and drugged out moonlighters.

Fog Unplugged
Why did we keep doing this? Round and round and round, but we never hit the bullseye. In fact, we haven’t been “a couple” for months and I’m not sure why. We didn’t fight. There’s no big “problem’. We’ve been moving through the litany of our everyday life, leaving in the morning, seeing friends after work, returning to complete the circle at night, but we haven’t connected in a long time.

Dancine In Light, Dancing in Love
A wisp of a woman she was. Tall, thin, frail. Frail? Hardly that. Dancine was strong, physically, emotionally, spiritually. She was and still is a child of the universe, timeless as light is forever. From a single spark she came. Billions of years she traveled to this pinpoint in space and time where she will shine in on for trillions of years to come; or go.
