Today as I was composing my day by day Morning Pages, I was pondering something I'd composed yesterday with the goal of involving it for my article in this bulletin. The subject was tied in with moving away from dread. A while later as I contemplated it I concluded it never again was appropriate or attractive to expound on and center around dread. What is required now for us all is to zero in on affection. Then, at that point, question (one more type of dread) emerged inside me.

Then in the western world, we're obsessed with youth. Our media is impregnated with images of the youthful, beautiful, and happy dealing us products on the reverse of the pledge that we will come like them if we should only buy this face cream or that auto or this insurance policy. The fantastic and indirect equation this falseness is grounded on seems to be that youth = beauty = success = advisability = love = happiness = youth etc. One only has to look at our icons of love to see the unforgettable link between youth and love. In fact, two of our most notorious romantic icons, Juliet and Pocahontas (as lauded by Peggy Lee in the classic love song fever) were so youthful at the time of embarking on their turbulent loves that they would not, moment, be considered of legal age. In amongst all this, one could fluently be left with the print that beyond the age of thirty, all hope for love is lost.
