friendship
C.S Lewis got it right: friendship is born when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one!"
Vanessa
High school... What a weird time for me, huh? Met some interesting people in all three of my years and some people were more unique than others. I had a crush on a few gals along the way but when it comes to the gals that I knew, there has and never will be another gal that I've met like Vanessa, sometimes I'd call her Van for short, who's probably one of the most lovely gals I'll ever know.

She Was Never a Friend to Me
Some people say that friends last forever, they are with you through thick and thin, good and bad, the great times, and the worst times. I’ve had friends that stuck with me for years, and then I’ve had friends that have stuck with me for months, waiting for the moment shit went south and gave them a reason to cut ties. It’s a known fact that losing a friend hurts worse than a breakup. I’ve had my share of broken friendships and let me tell you, it feels like my heart was stabbed repeatedly.

A College Moment
No social media. The term didn't exist. What did exist was Mr. E's, "Say it out loud. You'll hear it, mystery." He lived off campus and was a tall interesting looking man who always seemed to wear the same colorful checkered flannel. Whenever you walked past him or found yourself in his presence, you were mesmerized. He said unthought-of things; "Weed will be legal some day. Don't forget to pay your supplier." Or he wouldn't say anything at all and captivate you with a sight of hand magic trick and then walk away. He seemed to always be walking away. Almost as if he lived off the suspense of wondering what you would have said in response to his awkward, yet captivating interaction.

People We Can’t Forget
We meet thousands of people in our lives. We sometimes hate them or sometimes feel like we’re walking on clouds while talking to them. In every way, people are one of the most important things in a human’s life. However, some of these people we’re referring to might be more important for us than the others. They either might be our best friends or members of our families. Whoever they are, there are probably specific reasons that give them that great privilege.

Wrong Place, Wrong Time
It can look very bad when you get caught with half of the store in your backpack. I was hanging out with my friends after school and we get thirsty. We went to the store and attempted to shoplift. We got caught by a store worker. My day ended with me running home terrified that the police might be looking for me. Peer pressure is a good way to get yourself in trouble.

Where's Your Place?
Where's your place in your relationships? Where do you stand? I'm not referring to intimate relationships, but I am referring to friendships. Granted, some people don't care to make new friends. They keep their childhood circle relevant and everyone is just a mere acquaintance, which is okay. Then you have people who are open to meeting new people and letting that relationship grow into whatever it may be.
