friendship
C.S Lewis got it right: friendship is born when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one!"
The Problem With The Online Wingman Approach. Top Story - August 2022.
I've made an evaluation about my dating skills that I almost feel ashamed to admit. I suck at dating apps. It's not that there is a contest or anything. They aren't handing out medals for the person who makes the most connections, or who finds love first. That's not the end result worth celebrating.

Dancing The Night Away
I guess we all have our little quirks. After all, it is what makes life interesting. For instance, I love to write. Yet, I have some friends who have a problem composing a simple letter to a friend. There are some that can’t get the knack for taking pictures. They just hate trying to figure out all the buttons on a camera. I have friends who excel at picture taking. Their photos are phenomenal. I have friends who can dance like professionals and some like me, who struggle to get my feet coordinated with my brain.

The Little Things We Do
A friend of mine, who I'm going to call RN in this little story decided to go back to college and get her master's in journalism. Well since we both had had a blast during our master's for Creative Writing I figured I'd sit back and help out where I could proofreading, editing, blah, blah, blah. So our running joke was I shared her grade (yes I absolutely know I do not share that grade folks its strictly for laughs). So she's been doing really well through the entire Journalism course and of course as her friend I just couldn't be prouder. There were a handful of times where she actually wanted to quit the entire program and I said, "Oh no, if I wasn't allowed to bail during bachelor's you can't bail during master's. Do not make me take a five hour drive or drink a Red Bull and grow wings (again yes I know I won't actually grow wings strictly for laughs here) and pull several all nighters with you to get these assignments finished. Well honestly she actually liked the sound of that and it was more like threatening her with a good time so I was like, "Oh for crying out loud. You are staying in the program I can do edits and proofread you got this."

The Sacred Valley
I couldn’t comprehend what had just happened. And I couldn’t believe that I somehow thought coming back here would be different. Nothing is new, everything is exactly the same, even down to the details of this gloomy hall with this aged teak entrance door to her apartment – its cracked blue paint, rotten patches and aged grooves where knots have sprouted misguidedly, perforating the surface and leaking a slight oil as though it were crying over its futile life. To think, I had once fantasized about repairing this door with some sandpaper, Selleys ‘no more gaps’ and a litre of enamel gloss finish that would send all her nosy neighbours out of the building due to the fumes from the oil based paint, leaving us alone to make loud and passionate love making.

5 Things Will Smith Slapping Chris Rock Taught Me About Self-care
By now, whether you wanted to or not, you must have seen the recent video of Will Smith's apology to Chris Rock for his infamous 'slap heard around the world' that took place at the 2022 Oscars when he took to the stage and slapped Rock in the face after he made a G.I. Jane joke in reference to Jada Pinkett Smith's hair loss, which is due to alopecia.

Lingering Heart
Who do you think you are? Stepping into a life so pure, changing perspective and expecting more. We were just friends who help each other grow, and now you live in my head wanting me to love you forever more—breaking me down from light to shadow, making me hate to love and the things that follow. Hurting in doses like a disease in transit, loving someone else now feels like roaches on the carpet.

Those unrepentant suffering in youth
There is a kind of suffering that is willingly and without regret. It is like a seed, rooted in the heart, the process of breaking through the soil when germinating is bitter, but the result of blossoming is sweet, it is military training.

A man, Detached...
A man, Detached Finding the extraordinary in the mundane has become the skill he values most. His initial journey was one set on fulfillment and seeking to obtain more, but just like most things, it evolved and grew into more. It now became a journey of spiritualization once believed to be unobtainable through contemporary means. With each passing day, the distance expands between him and the collective conscience. The collective conscience in this case is society and its structures. These same structures, which used to appear as boundaries for safety, now appear as bars for imprisonment.
