Family unites us; but it's also a challenge. All about fighting to stay together, and loving every moment of it.
Pink Jobs, Blue Jobs, but Now They Are Purple
A very good friend of mine and his wife often discuss pink jobs and blue jobs. Confused?" "A man and his wife are arguing about who should bring the coffee each morning. The wife said, “You should do it because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long for our coffee.” The husband replied, “You are in charge of cooking around here, and you should do it! Because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.” His wife quickly says, “No, you should do it. You're in charge of drinks. Plus, the Bible says that men should make the coffee." Her husband smirks and says, “You’re crazy. I don’t believe you; show me where it says that.” She goes to get the Bible. Then, she opens the New Testament. She points to the top of several pages. It clearly says, .... "HEBREWS."

How I Balance My Studies and Job in Islamabad at 24
Life at 24 is not as easy as it looks from the outside. People often imagine this age as a golden chapter filled with freedom, energy, and endless possibilities. But for me—and for many young people in Pakistan—it is also a time of responsibility, sleepless nights, and silent battles.

Alone but Unbroken: A Village Boy’s Journey to the City
Life in a village is a beauty only those who have lived it can truly understand. Waking up to the gentle voice of your mother, finding comfort in your father’s calm presence, sharing laughter and mischief with siblings, and falling asleep under the quiet of the night—it is simple, yet complete.

Dreams, Deception, and Determination
A Village Boy with Big Dreams The village I grew up in was simple, slow, and full of laughter. Days rose with the sun and nights melted into family jokes, stories, and shared meals. I was just another boy from this village, but I carried a dream heavier than the summer sun: one day, I would become a doctor and make my family proud — my parents, my siblings, and the whole village.

Why Can’t We Get It Together? Dr. Umar Johnson on the Crisis of Black Love
Picture this: It’s a chilly January evening, the kind where you’re curled up with a hot drink, scrolling through YouTube, and you stumble across a conversation that stops you in your tracks. That’s what happened when I tuned into Hardly Initiated’s MLK Eve episode, featuring none other than Dr. Umar Johnson. You know, the kind of voice that makes you lean in, put your phone down, and really listen? Yeah, that’s the one.

Under the Nets, Beyond the Scoreboard
The First Step Into Something New There’s a first time for everything, and sometimes it comes with nerves, laughter, and memories that stay long after the moment is gone. For me, Shehzad, and my friends — Bilal, Irfan, Umar, and Khalil — that “first time” was stepping into a closed cricket ground, the kind wrapped entirely in nets, where boundaries aren’t measured by distance but by the sound of a ball smacking against mesh.

The Stranger Who Returned My Lost Journal
I’ve always kept a journal. Not a neat, leather-bound diary with perfect cursive entries, but a messy little notebook that went everywhere with me. It was filled with scribbled ideas, unfiltered feelings, doodles in the margins, and dreams I wasn’t ready to say out loud. That journal was more me than any photo or social media profile could ever be.

“The Last Candle”
The power went out just as the storm reached its height. Thunder rattled the windows, lightning split the sky, and suddenly the house plunged into absolute darkness. For a long moment, there was nothing but the sound of rain lashing against the roof and wind howling through the cracks of the old wooden doors.
