family
Family unites us; but it's also a challenge. All about fighting to stay together, and loving every moment of it.
A Dream to Teach Perspective
I won't make up any names or descriptions of faces. I'll only tell this dream as I saw and heard it almost a year ago. I've procrastinated in sharing it. I remember I could almost feel the dust blowing through her shattered home. I'll describe every detail, making the dream seem longer, but it only flashed before my eyes a little more than 10 seconds.

The Village of Dreams
Once upon a time, in a small village nestled among untried hills, there lived a boy named Manoj. The village was tabbed Peapville considering it had no wealth, but lots of peas growing in the fields. Manoj lived in a small hut with his family, and life was tough. They didn't have much, but they had each other.

Why People Get Jealous?
“Jealousy is the art of counting someone else’s blessings instead of your own.” — Unknown. People become jealous when they see others having beautiful things, such as a large house or a happy family, since it makes them feel like they have been missing out. For example, if a person sees a buddy with a new car, they may feel envious because they wish they had one.

Facing the Death During Delivery
It was the night of August 21, 2012. I started experiencing labor pains. I had suffered a lot during my third pregnancy. My gynecologist was very concerned about my complicated situation. I had been suffering from a urine infection for the last 2 months. The 8th month had been challenging for me. The weight of a growing belly, internal discomfort, and two small children. Abraham did all he could to help.

An Inspiring Message to You
April is the start of Autism Awareness Month, while April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day. It's a day to highlight the need to improve the lives of those with autism. I was diagnosed with autism at the age of five. Many of my peers in school and everyone else said that I wouldn't have a successful life. Despite those naysayers, I refused to give up. I was bullied for being different from others, because autism was so misunderstood back in the 90s. I was in special education classes from Pre-K through my junior year of high school. I'll be forever grateful of my teachers and everyone for helping me become the person I am today. Special education teachers in general deserve all the credit for taking time out of their day to help people like me strive for excellence. Autism Awareness is one the causes I'm very passionate about, because it's something that's relatable to me. It's also a cause that very close to my heart. Plus, it's something I can speak about from personal experiences. I believe that people sharing their stories about being on the spectrum will be inspirational to others.

How to Deal with the Fact that Everyone We Love Will Die Someday
There's obviously a degree of pragmatism built into the human psyche, which enables us to carry on each day while somehow completely ignoring life's largest and most alarming truths. Yes, everything is meaningless, and we find ourselves floating about on a speck in an infinite universe, and we have no real idea how any of this came about, yet, for a time, one can manage to focus all their attention and care on the fact that they're running late to their morning shift at the grocery store. But every now and then these truths sweep over our awareness, and in an instant, the whole world becomes unrecognizable.

Good Friends
There was a friend from high school who saw me in an open meeting for alcoholics, families, and friends. She was crying. I thought she might be comforted by knowing someone. Wrong, she cried harder and as she pointed at me she said, “I knew you would be here!”
