All about dating. First dates, three years into a relationship, Tinder, and more.
The Modern Dating Game
To say coming out of a 17 year relationship was a little scary is an understatement. Not least because I felt that nothing which was happening at the time was really within my control (the details of which I’ll leave for another blog). But to cut a long story short, I never really wanted to be single right then. However, as it was, I found myself exactly that on New Years Day, 2016, and when the last time you were dating was 1998 (a whole different millennia), the dating game had moved on somewhat from then!

You Have to Kiss a Few Frogs to Find a Prince, But Love Yourself to Be Found by a King
I met my ex when I was 16 in high school. He was sweet, and all my friends expressed how lucky I was to be dating one of the most popular guys in school. He played sports and did have a lot of friends.

Untrue Love (Part Three: B)
I must relay a disclaimer before I continue. My time with Damion may have been short-lived, but it was all over the place. Meaning that many of my memories are not in order or have holes in them. Having said that, if I jump around a little, that is why. Let's continue.

What I Learned From My Weird Relationship-Non-Relationship
Growing up, I never had a spectacular love life. As much as I watched all of the Disney Channel Original Movies and learned the choreography to High School Musical, it was to no avail. Most of my school years were spent being known as "the other asian girl in our class" or "that girl who is obsessed with band" (and not in the sexy American Pie Presents: Band Camp kind of way. Mostly I had a lot of crushes and was in a few not-quite-dating-but-definitely-not-just-friends (and often a little one-sided) type of moments, or "situationships," as we now call them.

The Relationship That Broke Me
It started when I was 20. He was the third guy that ever showed any interest in me. We met on a dating site. Something was just off. He never wanted to hang out in public, he only wanted to invite me over to his house. A random stranger. I remember the stories growing up. Never meet people online, never get into their cars, don’t tell them where you work, live, or hang out. Mostly importantly, don’t go to their house. If you’re going to meet someone online, let someone know where you’re going.

Is Long Distance Worth It?
A long distance relationship was not something I ever thought I would be in when I was 17 years old. Prior to this relationship, I have been single since birth. Obviously, I always wanted to be in a relationship and most people I've talked to have said that dating when you are 18 is quite late, as many start dating at the age of 12. I think that’s way too young.
