Starting Forever

It was slowly coming on 5:00 pm... as she paced back and forth anxiously awaiting for his arrival. No idea what to even expect. Would he want to just stay in and awkwardly sit on the couch staring at each other? Being this was the first time they’d finally get to touch, and actually be face to face finally after so many months of a long distance online kind of thing... but she just knew they would someday get to this moment.

As she kept looking at her phone, nervously trying to keep her cool, she heard a knock on the door. Suddenly, in a panic flying through the house making sure everything looked nice and presentable for him, she quickly smoothed over her dress, gave her hair a nice flip and started walking slowly to the door, gave the peep hole a quick glance just to make sure.. and when she saw his eyes her heart wanted to jump out of her chest. This moment had finally arrived. One more quick deep breath as she started to open the door, and there before her stood the most beautiful man she’s ever seen in person, standing in picture perfect view right in front of her. Without even saying a word she quickly went in for the hug, catching him off guard that all he could do was giggle, so she giggled right back.

She was soo ecstatic to finally being embraced by this man, she snuggled further into the hug. When she put her head on his chest all of her doubts and fears just went away, feeling his heart beating even harder than hers was, which made her grin from ear to ear. Then all of the sudden he just said, “Hi.” She pulled away from his chest still enveloped in his strong embrace she looked up at him and said, “Hi.” Their eyes locked for what felt like forever than she said, “Haha, I told myself, stay chill, don’t freak out and immediately go for the hug, give him a chance to say hi,” she said. He just giggled again and said, “Haha well you beat me to it, I was just about to do the same.. that’s why I giggled so much. Babe we clearly are two peas in a pod, haha come on, haven’t you learned this by now, haha.”

Finally, as they pulled away from the long embracing, entangling hug, he took her hand and lead her to the couch all while magically pulling out a beautiful bouquet of yellow roses, and a nice bottle of Merlot. He said, “Babe, we talk about so many things, but I really had no idea what kind of wine you would like haha so hope this is ok?”

She was soo caught off guard by the beautiful bouquet of roses, she didn’t even see what kind it was and than said “No worries love, i don’t really care what kind of wine it is, I do really like white wines like buttery Chardonnay’s, but Merlot is typically my other go to.” He started giggling again and said, “haha see? Two peas!” And just smiled at her and gently kissed her hand. She said casually, “So, what was your plan for this evening?” He quickly pecked her on the lips and then pulled away just as fast, and said, “This!” She couldn’t help but smile and say, “well well then I could def use more of that, wink wink, haha but I meant what’s the plan for this big date, silly?” And he took her hand again and said, “ wherever you go I’m going too.. but yes I do have big plans.. so are you ready?” She started to get up to go grab her shoes and he stopped her, got up went and grabbed her shoes and just like Prince Charming did wooing Cinderella he put her heels on her feet, perfect fit!

As she thanked him with a quick kiss back, and started heading for the door he stopped her once more and said, “ My love, I want to commemorate this evening with a toast, do you have a wine opener, I don’t want to waste another moment.”

She headed to the kitchen to grab the wine key and returning with two long stemmed wine glasses, she asked him, “would you like to do the honors?” He giggled again and mumbled, “haha I don’t think I know how to, can you show me?” “Of course, she said, “I’ll show you, so next time you’ll be a pro!”

He couldn’t help but pull her in for a passionate kiss after hearing her say the cutest things like that. They embraced once more, but this time this passion felt like it was on even another level than it was before they both felt like they were levitating. She eventually had to come up for air. And when she did.. they both pulled away still embraced and just in unison both said, “Woah!” “How bout that wine huh?” Then both just stood there giggling so hard.

He handed her the bottle as she first showed him he needed to remove the foil with the foil cutter, starting on one side and cutting all the way around. Then she opened the wine key revealing the corkscrew. She poked at him a bit with it teasingly.. as he grabbed her from behind and held her while watching her in awe. She inserted the corkscrew and twisted til it was all the way down, then showed him to put down the arm and lever it out til the cork popped.

All he could do was clap and said, “Yay, you did it, haha.” He hand her the glasses as she poured them each one. He said, “Wow, I don’t even need to go to bars anymore, I got the real one at home!” She couldn’t help but smile hearing him consider her home his. He looked at her and said, “so babe I know this journey has not been at all easy for me or you, and I know you’ve cried so many tears because of this, please no I never wanted you to ever get hurt, I just had a lot of demons inside that needed to be released and I couldn’t do that with you around so I had to run away and escape from what I was fearing and honestly just needing to look it in the face and say no go away!

You’ve been sooo patient with me at times I didn’t think I even deserved it, cause I know sometimes I was putting other things first and not really allowing myself to fully commit to you... though you have been here right in front of me all along just waiting for me. But, I was scared you would hurt me or reject me like all the rest. But all that is in the past and has lead us to this moment, and from here on out my love, I am your’s and you are mine, and I want to shout it to the world! So cheers to us babe. Thank you for waiting for me!”

She had absolutely no words, tears were streaming down her face he, took his hand and softly brushed the tears away from her eyes and said, “look at me, it’s all because of you, the unconditional love you constantly kept sending me consciously and subconsciously, thank you for never giving up..though trust me I know how badly you wanted to so many times, even especially those moments that you had thought I had found someone else, I bet that was just torture for you, and again I’m soooo sorry for those painful moments, and just so you know they were just as painful for me because I was doing what my ego wanted but my soul was constantly crying out don’t hurt her, you don’t want this. Babe I want you to always know everything I did I truly did it for us, the hard lessons lead me to realizing what truly matters in this world to me and that is you!”

Than he pulled her in for another kiss.. realizing they never did actually do the official cheers there glasses still sitting on the counter, she pulled away turning around in his arms grabbed the two glasses handing one to him and saying, “ To us babe, to always be open and honest with each other and to never lose our sense of wonder and childlike silliness,” she couldn’t help but giggle as she said it.. they both clinked there glasses looked each other in the eyes and said in unison, “never ever and always with you forever!”

As they both hand in hand sipping on their wines heading for the door, taking their last sip of wine, taking her glass and setting them both on the table he said, “ ok babe, you ready?” And she said, “for what,” as they both put their hands together on the door still interlocked fingers, the door opened and he said, “Our forever to start?”

She gave him a soft graze across his face and said, “ I thought you’d never ask?” As they walked out in to the hallway and off to there forever, closing the door behind them. Hand in hand and anxiously awaiting for the rest of the night to unfold. They get to the car, he opened her door as a gentleman should making sure her dress was in before he shut the door, he quickly ran around the car got in, shut the door and immediately grabbed her hand.. and they both looked at each other gave a soft kiss and both in unison saying, “let’s start our forever!” He started the car and they drove off into the night!
