Standing Up For The Victims Of The Wildfires.
A Loss Like This Is Always Devastating
If you have been keeping up with the news then you will know about the wildfires that have hit LA.
Some of the people who have lost their homes are celebrities, and I have seen some horrid comments about why these celebrities should not be affected because they have money.
Before people start complaining. I don't have the money these celebrities have. I live with my husband who no longer works due to disability, and though we both write; we only have a very small income, and we live in council housing in the United Kingdom.
I have been loyally following this story, and the devastation is tragic. I have empathy, and I feel the pain of these people who have lost their homes. Of course, many of these people do have other homes they can use, but that is not the point.
The point is, like other working people; these people have worked hard to build up their livelihoods, and they will have had children of whom they have shared happy times, some have memories of growing up in their homes, and treasured items.
Some will also have special memories they have made from around the area, others may have lost people they loved in the fires.
We used to be owners of a holiday home on Seashore Caravan Park some years back, and we lost our home because of traumatic circumstances.
That broke our hearts enough.
The difference is that our caravan was still standing, and we can still able to go back to our happy place where memories were made, whereas those who have lost their homes in these horrific fires can't do that.
I lost a girlfriend in a fire when I was younger, and that ripped my heart out beyond devastation, so to lose your entire home must be soul-destroying.
It doesn't matter how much money or property you have. When you lose a home and an entire neighborhood in a fire, you lose memories and you lose something you have worked hard for; that is an enormous part of your life gone.
Everybody has the right to grieve, and almost all of us have gone through one or more traumatic events in our lifetime, no matter how much we earn, or how many properties we own.
It's not the money or the material things that cause us to suffer in circumstances like these. It is the loss of something we built up, a passion and stability, friends, family, and one of our homes in which we created love, experienced heartbreak and sadness, as well as many happy memories we have created.
Loss can create deep emotions. It can be so severe, that it can crumble a person to the ground, and it doesn't know money. These celebrities are human beings with feelings just like the rest of us.
These are places where non-famous people have lived too, and they are probably feeling the loss of their homes and livelihood too; many won't be able to rebuild their homes, and possibly many won't have any other homes they can use.
The struggle must be overwhelming for everyone involved, and the celebrities who have lost their homes have hearts, meaning they will also be thinking about those who are less well-off than themselves.
We don't have half as much as these people do, and we only have one home. However, we deeply feel the sadness of these people. We would have been devastated if we had been in their position.
It is one thing to lose a holiday home through the trauma we have been through but to completely lose your entire home in a fire, even if you do have another home must leave heartbreaking feelings that cannot be compared to ours.
To everyone affected by these horrible fires. Our hearts are yours, whether you are a celebrity or not. You are entitled to feel the way you feel, and it is ok to grieve your loss, even if you do have other homes.
At the end of the day, you are human like the rest of us, and your feelings count too.

So many tragedies, first the wildfires than they plane crash. We must all have compassion for each other. Nicely written. - Well Done!!
A lot of true points to make us think. Excellent supportive words
Thank you for writing this, Carol. It’s nice to have someone who supports California and its residents. It makes me sick to my stomach when I hear the lies and the misinformation that’s being spread around about California. What’s really sad about it is that the lies are being spread by the president of the United States, that’s just so disheartening. So so disheartening. But our communities have come together to be strong together and to help each other together. California will get through this, and we will be strong stronger for it. I am sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. You did a fantastic job, conveying your feelings and emotions regarding this issue.
I am sorry this brought back you losing your friend to a fire. Hugs sent your way
It is very sad but it's amazing how Californians came together and support one another even celebrities open up their homes. Restaurants owners came out to feed victim who lost their home and they also feed first respondents as well. The negative people their voices should just be mute
