Spiraling Out of Control or Cycling Certain Circles?

Happy Monday, Vocal Media Community! Today's Monday Morning Huddle (well, afternoon today) is one to make you think. Yep, let's wake up that ol' noggin with a little spiral spiritual must-know to kick off the new week.

My cover photo and inspiration for January 27, 2025, is a collection of purple spirals. These spirals are spray-painted on my back balcony area, but not by me. A previous tenant bedazzled the wall and I could never bring myself to do away with the circular cluster that spans a good 5 ft vertically and 3ft horizontally.

As a curious soul, I became quite smitten with the art and had to learn more.

No, life isn't spiraling out of control, folks, but cycles certainly circle.

Actually, sometimes, life does feel like it's spinning out of control, doesn't it?

I have felt that way at work recently, hence, the reason I am late with this post. I work in the hotel industry and when multiple people call out it can cause panic, especially when business is busy and all hands on deck are necessary. Travelers expect to check into ready, clean rooms upon arrival, and hospitality demands call for swift action while maintaining a particular brand standard.

In my situation, I did not panic but relied on twenty years of experience to guide me to sound decisions.

The Plan: pairing people up and jumping in to assist my team- all rooms were completed with assistance from other departments within my Marriott team.

So, there you have it, the multiple prompting for today's huddle.

Spiritual Symbolism

The spiral's energy (or wisdom) speaks to the cyclical nature of life.

Birth-Death-Rebirth

If you look around, you will find many things with the spiral pattern including plants, animals, and weather patterns.

Examples: snails, pine cones, tree leaves, flowers, and animal horns.

Surrounded, we are, by this constant round and round, which points to the interconnection among all beings.

The spiral also represents the path of the outer consciousness leading to the inner soul. Man's evolution from the physical to spiritual realms.

It's the round and round taking our focus away from physicality to spirituality.

Hypnotic, trance-like with an awe appeal, it's hard to deny the spiral's abundance once one begins looking.

I look and you should, too!

Matter of fact, the spiral shape became a personal prize of sorts aiding my journey to Reiki.

Spiral Origin:

Said to be the oldest symbol worldwide, the spiral dates to caves and rock formations found globally from the Middle East, China, and Peru to Africa, Europe, North America, and throughout the Pacific. Also found on artifacts, the spiral has had the innate ability through time and generations to remind Man that everything in life evolves.

Perhaps the spiral's best message: Is not to look for the ending or the result but to view all things in life as a journey.

Quote time: Maynard James Keenan

A circle is the reflection of eternity. It has no beginning and it has no end - and if you put several circles over each other, then you get a spiral.

HOMEWORK: 😋😋😋- She said homework!!!!

Take a gander and imagine how different certain stressful life situations might appear if you incorporate a spiral effect into the ordeal. Round and round, spiraling away from your body, mind, and soul all the stress and lesser-than vibes.

Try approaching hardships with a "birth, death, rebirth" mentality. Birth of problems, eventually die, and are reborn to better things.

Consider how all beings are interconnected.

And do keep in mind that while it might feel like things are spiraling out of control, it's inevitable that certain cycles circle.

......

Have a fantastic week; don't be shy, drop me a line. My GOAL: for the Monday Morning Huddle to evolve.

I love that you never got rid of those spirals and how they became the inspiration for this piece. I constantly see the circular in life.

  • Oh wow, I never knew that the spiral originated from such a long time ago. That was fascinating!

To me spirals occur for good and bad they can go in either direction. Good job in making me think.
