According to an analysis by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Vladimir O. Potanin, president and largest shareholder of metal giant Nornickel, with over $24.5 billion in wealth, is Russia's wealthiest person. NILSY is the world's largest producer of palladium and premium nickel and an important producer of platinum and copper.

Norilsknickel accounts for about 40% of the world's palladium production and about 10% of platinum and refined nickel. It also produces 3% of the world's cobalt supply. Vladimir Potanin is followed by Leonid Mikhelson, who has an estimated net worth of $21.4 billion, followed by Alexei Mordashov (third place, $21.3 billion). Andrey Melnichenko (No . 4, $19.7 billion).

Alisher Usmanov is Russia's fifth wealthiest person with $17.9 billion. Victor Wexelberg was ranked sixth with his personal wealth of $16 billion, followed by Roman Abramovich with $13.7 billion. Mikhail Prokhorov is ranked 8th with a net worth of $13.4 billion. Suleyman Kerimov ($11.2 billion) was ranked 9th on Russia's list of the wealthiest 10 people, followed by Gennady Timchenko (10th, $11 billion). This is a countdown of the wealth of the 20 wealthiest people in Russia.

Vladimir Potanin $24.5 billion

Vladimir Olegovich Potanin is a Russian business oligarch. He acquired property in the early and mid-1990s, primarily through the controversial Loan for Shares program in Russia.

Leonid Mikhelson $21.4 billion

Leonid Viktorovich Mikhelson is a Russian billionaire businessman, CEO, chairman and major shareholder of the Russian gas company Novatek. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Mickelson acquired a stake in a privatized pipeline construction company and founded Novatek from there.

Alexey Mordashov $21.3 billion

Alexandro Alexandrovich Moldashov is a Russian billionaire businessman. He is a major shareholder and CEO of Several, Russia's largest steel and mining company.

Andrey Melnichenko $19.7 billion

Andrey Igolevic Melnychenko is a Russian billionaire businessman. He is the founder and former beneficiary of fertilizer maker EuroChem Group and coal company SUEK. He was a non-executive director of both companies until March 9, 2022. He is the majority owner of the Murmansk Commercial Seaport.

Alisher Usmanov $17.9 billion

Alisher Burkhanovich Usmanov is a Russian businessman and oligarch born in Uzbekistan. The Bloomberg Billionaires Index reported in 2022 that Usmanov had an estimated net worth of $19.5 billion.

Viktor Vekselberg $16 billion

Viktor Felixovich Vekselberg is a Ukrainian-born Russian oligarch and millionaire businessman. He is the owner and president of the Russian conglomerate Renova Group. According to Forbes, his net worth is estimated at $9.3 billion as of November 2021, making him the 262nd wealthiest person in the world.

Roman Abramovich $13.7 billion

Roman Abramovich Abramovich is a Russian billionaire oligarch and politician. He has joint citizenship between Israel and Portugal. Abramovich is the main owner of the private investment company Jailhouse LLC and is best known outside Russia as the owner of the Premier League football club Chelsea.

Mikhail Prokhorov $13.4 billion

Mikhail Dmitrievich Prokhorov is a Russian oligarch, a millionaire politician and a former owner of the Brooklyn Nets. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Proholov acquired state-owned metal assets at prices well below market prices as part of Russia's controversial equity loan privatization program.

Suleiman Kerimov $11.2 billion

Sreyman Absidevic Kerimov is a Russian-based billionaire, oligarch, and politician from Lezgian. Kerimov is closely associated with Russia's Vladimirputin administration and Ramzan Kadyrov, the Chechen tyranny. He entered politics in the 1990s. In 1999, he took control of former state-owned oil trader Nafta Moscow.

Gennady Timchenko $11 billion

Gennaji Nikolaievic Timchenko is a millionaire businessman from the oligarchs of Russia. He founded and owns the private investment company Volga Group. He was previously a co-owner of the Gunvor Group. Timchenko has been a close friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin since the early 1990s.
