Reactions as AIDS Ambassador tests positive for HIV on live TV (video)
This is a wild story.

Okay this story is…wild!
As human beings for some reason, we love to see unexpected things happen especially on live television broadcasts. There’s a reason Live TV bloopers and embarrassing moments caught on live TV are two of the most watched kinds of videos on YouTube.
Today, there is another video that will be joining the pile and it is of a former HIV & AIDS ambassador finding out that they have HIV live on national TV.
While the headline sounds pretty straightforward, the story itself is anything but. Without further ado, let me fill you in on everything going on because this is quite a wild ride.

All the way back as 2014, Ghanaian celebrity Joyce Dzidzor Mensah was making headlines because of her HIV/AIDS diagnosis. According to reports, Joyce Dzidzor Mensah who is a former ambassador of the Heart to Heart Campaign prominently moved around Ghana as an advocate against HIV and AiDS spreading information and trying to help people from contracting the virus. She was the face of the country’s campaign against the disease and stigmatization around the disease.
The only problem though was that per the AIDS Commission’s regulations, only HIV-Positive people could be ambassadors in the Heart to Heart campaign.
So, as her notoriety begun to grow and people begun shaming her and insulting her for being HIV Positive as well as shaming her children for also being positive, Joyce came out to declare that she was in fact NOT HIV-Positive.
She claimed a HIV-Negative status and provided evidence in the form of hospital test results which she did in Germany, yet people did not let up.
Eventually after continued harassment and frustration from the people who were upset about Joyce’s ever-changing tune, she decided this week to do a live TV special where she would get tested for HIV live and on broadcast.
Joyce brought her children along for the test in a bid to clear their status up as well to the world and stop them from harassment.
She said before doing her test,
The purpose of his gathering is to clear all doubt and officially apologise on certain things that happened during my time as Ghana AIDS Ambassador. So many things went wrong and I have seen where I fell short so I decided to fly all the way from Germany to make sure I contribute to ending this issue. I am only here to right the wrongs
However, things didn’t go the way she planned.
Joyce was STUNNED to find after the HIV test was done that she was in fact HIV-Positive and has been living with the disease for many years.
Her children though tested negative.
As HIV and AIDS is in fact not a death sentence, Joyce took the news with her head held high saying that now that she was equipped with the information, she’d go ahead to get on the necessary medication to continue to live a healthy life. She also didn’t fail to remind people and I think it’s necessary to buttress - HIV/AIDS is not a death sentence. Please go out and get tested.
That’s All.
