Speaking about his experience with betrayals and disappointments in the music industry, producer Shizzi said:
SHIZZI: I feel like there are times that I've tried to do bigger things like put out music and stuff and people that I've helped in the game, that I've been there for, that I've taken as family, when it was that time to reciprocate that love, they just back out. I can't give names but I mean, it's moments like this that actually give you the room to talk about certain things. It pains when you look out for people truly, and it happens to everybody in the game, not just me, but this particular situation is something that really still hurts.
I remember after I did "Peru" which was a big song, it made millions for the label. And then, there was a time that I had a song with Fireboy that was supposed to come out. Big song, big tune. I went ahead and put Focalistic on it. Everybody was hot then. The same feeling that I had making Peru was the same feeling I had with this particular song. So it's like I knew it, I felt that this one was going to go. Fireboy was in support of it cuz he actually went and did his verse, sent me everything that bro let's put it out, I'm with you, let's go to Miami and shoot the video, blah blah blah. But then, at one point, everybody just went quiet including the label.
Actually, they told me that if I put it out, they'll take it down. The label told me. I was expecting the same love that I gave when we were doing the business. I took them as family. I told my team to let it go. I feel good about this song, I feel like this song is going to go. My team was like are you sure? You don't want to bring your lawyers into it. I was like no, let it go. Whatever they want to do, let them just do it. It's okay. I feel good about this song. I feel like this song is going to be a hit, just let it go. I let it go and when it was our own time to show support and let the song come out, everybody till today on my Twitter is still asking for that song, but the song never came out because everybody just went quiet.
When there are so many people involved, it kills that ginger. That feeling of I want to do this for the fun of it. Bringing in all the business and managers and label and all those things, it destroys the the creative juice and the euphoric feeling of this is such a hit. After a while, you just stop playing the song. Even you, you stop listening to the song.
