I like to think we all had a childhood best friend, whether it was the neighbor, or a kid from down the block. My best friends name was Johnny, he was a character, we went to school together so that was a plus for me. We were always full of laughs, and doing dumb stuff only kids with no parental guidance would think to do. Like being pushed into the pool, to getting chased by all the dogs while riding our bikes around the neighborhood! We're in our 20's now, and don't talk much, but let me tell you when we do, it's always an arm for an arm! Literally, ha ha. We were about 11 years old, it was a weekend and he decided to come over. We never really planned things, they sort of just happened. I mean we didn't have phone back then, so we couldn't shoot each other a text before showing up unannounced. Not that we had a problem with it though, it was always fun! My dad built us this huge playground, it had a swing set, rock climbing, and a big o'l slide! Man, did we make memories on that set! So, this day in particular we were on the playground, and my brother who was about 2 years older had gotten home, with his friends. They decided to get on the playground as well, for laughs of course. It was about 6 of us up there now, it was kinda like we were just seeing them enjoying themselves and hanging out, while they kinda bombarded our space! They were talking about going down the slide, and doing truth or dares, all kind of grown up kid stuff! We were kinda just sitting there in awe, like are they really about to do all that stuff? We're talking about daring each other to kiss on the cheeks, to fall down the slide, to prank call people. They were having fun, and we were enjoying cause they were really funny. All of a sudden, while we are all laughing the play set starts to shake, and before you know poor little Johnny, and I had a flash before our life! I was scared, crying, not really hurt, more afraid that I was going to get in trouble! I turn around and see Johnny holding on to his elbow, and I can tell he's hurt, and crying. "I think I broke my arm!" "Oh my god, I'm going to go tell my mom i'll be right back okay!" I went inside, and poor little Johnny was waiting outside, and sadly, I never returned. When I ran inside I was so scared, I thought i was going get spanked, as too my parents were a bit strict. I went out about 10 minutes later to make sure he was okay, and he was gone. I did not think anything about it, I figured he was fine if he went back home walking, like he usually did. That next Monday we saw each other in school, and he had a cast. "Oh my gosh, was that from the tree house?!" I asked a little surprised! "Well duh, you left me out there all alone with my arm all broken!" I'm sure we were on bad terms for a while, but after a while it sort of became an inside joke between us, and definitely became a story for us to tell when we got older. To this day, my parents still don't know what happened to the play ground that day, or to poor little Johnny! He's okay now, It was just an arm for an arm!
