Platonic Love

John had always been a quiet, reserved man. He kept to himself and didn't often engage in conversations with others, but that all changed when he met Rachel. Rachel was a vivacious and charming woman, with a smile that could light up a room. John was immediately drawn to her infectious personality and found himself drawn out of his shell whenever she was around.

They started talking more and more, and John discovered that he and Rachel had a lot in common. Rachel looked at John, a mix of surprise and sadness in her eyes. "John, I'm so sorry," she said. "I had no idea you felt this way. I think you're a wonderful person, and I really enjoy our conversations, but I'm in love with someone else. I hope you can understand that."

John's heart sank, but he knew that he had to accept Rachel's feelings. He didn't want to come between her and her boyfriend, and he valued their friendship too much to jeopardize it.

"My husband left me," Rachel said, sobbing. "He said that he's fallen out of love with me and he wants a divorce."

John sat down next to Rachel and took her hand. "I'm here for you," he said. "Whatever you need, I'll be here."

Rachel leaned her head on John's shoulder, and he wrapped his arms around her. For the next few weeks, John was there for Rachel every step of the way, helping her through the difficult process of getting a divorce.
