With a population of 40,488,030 Pakistan ( including East Pakistan ) was the 14th largest country in the world in, 1975. Within the next 10 years, the country became the 8th largest nation. In 2005 country rose to claim the sixth spot on its ranking. In 2018 Pakistan became the fifth most populous country on the planet. The data shows that the population of Pakistan grew from 40 million in 1955 to 220 million in 72 years with 38% population living in urban areas. It is estimated that after 30 years i.e. in 2050 country will have a population of 338 million.

Factor that cause the overpopulation in Pakistan

There are various factors that cause overpopulation in Pakistan. Among these factors the most important factor is Poverty. Poverty has become an international problem in developing countries. Uneducated people don't have resources for outdoor entertainment. These people spend the most time with their wives and bear more children. Their children remain uneducated due lack of resources and money. Out of 80 million children in Pakistan, only 20% of children live in urban areas and have access to meet their needs. The remaining children remain ignorant from generation and generation.

There is no family planning among poor people. Overpopulation affects agriculture and food resources. Almost 60% population of Pakistan is already scarce the food resource and basic needs of life. Overpopulation affects the cycle of the economy of any country. Lack of Awareness of family planning in villages of Pakistan is a vital cause of overpopulation.

Lack of Education

Lack of education in Pakistan is a major cause of overpopulation. Due to overpopulation lands are used for settlements and lands for cultivation have declined. Unskilled younster in Pakistan is the result of overpopulation and poor education. Massive population declines the education in the country. Iliteracy rate in Pakistan is increasing day by day due to increasing population.

Effects of Overpopulation in Pakistan

There are many disastrous effects of overpopulation in Pakistan. Urbanization, terrorism, inflation, defective tax structure, children abuse, corruption, shortage of food and electricity, social evils, drug abuse, migration of people, and civil war are common effects of overpopulation in Pakistan. Overpopulation directly affects the environment such as the destruction of natural sources, depletion of the ozone layer, global warming, floods, air, water, and noise pollution, ecological effects, and deforestation. According to South China Morning Post (SCMP) Covid- 19 pandemic is the result of overpopulation.

Solution of Overpopulation

Overpopulation is evil in Pakistan that is increasing day by day. To sum up, overpopulation has become a problem for more than two-thirds of the country,s problems. Awareness of family planning programs is already working and it must be strict for better results. The education system is the main solution to overpopulation in Pakistan. The Muslim scholars should tell the family planning system according to Islam. They should teach people with the help of Islam. By following, these rules overpopulation can reduce to some extent in Pakistan. Awarence of family planning and benefits of short family should tell in TV programms in different shows. Pakistan is an islamic country people are obedident to follow the islamic rules. Our Islamic shoclors should give the preching of islam about family plannning. Education is the major solution to control overpopulation in Pakistan. Well educated people knows the rules of family planning according to Islam.

2. Falling Motality Rate.

3. Diasters and Pandemics.

4. Increasing number of Conflicts.

5. Degradation of Environment.

6. Poverty

Overpopulation can control by controlling these factors in Pakistan. Education is the main solution to controll these factors.
