The mentors that I would love to thank and wish I could do something for, have many different names. Many you will never know who they are, their acts of kindness often come on a cold winter night. With many blankets, coats and something hot to drink or eat.

Anywhere from the many Churches, where meals are cooked daily to feed the homeless and those whose families, are thriving to survive.

Then those who I talk to daily in our local events group on social media. A place where we can post the things we have that we wish to give away. Or those who go to the local library to join us asking for jobs or things they may need.

Time and time again those mentors, or in my mind the heroes that know exactly where clothing is needed to go. Where food needs to go or whatever is needed, they will go in search to find it.

As we recently had a fire in our local community, the many heroes were there to find shelter for the family. They clothed them and even brought out groceries. Funding was set up at a local bank to help until the insurance came through.

Those acts of kindness come in so many ways. Those who stop to talk, to show they care, and they do. Can make one feel so blessed.

Then those who go out to help the youths in our community. The many teachers, coaches or a neighbour that is there to throw the ball or walk, alongside the young people.

The Boys And Girls programs, are organized by so many who just give of their time to be there.

If I could write them a letter, this is what I would like to say to them.

To The Angels Who Walk Our Earth

From the time I was a young girl, I was blessed to be raised by parents who knew the meaning of giving to others. I watched my parents make extra food to take to those less fortunate. To give the clothes we outgrew to families who needed them.

I also was blessed to live beside a wonderful man - Gordie and his wife- Kathleen. Gordie worked on a garbage truck and he would find things that many thought of as junk. Only for him to bring it home and the two of them would fix it up and give it to those who really needed it.

I saw baby seats, strollers and even furniture that they made look brand new and made families feel like they had gold.

Like each and every one of you.

I knew at a young age that acts of kindness started at home. Yet as I have moved to a bigger city I have seen so many, yes you who do so much and wish nothing in return.

I am honoured to know some of you, wishing I could only meet all of you and tell you how proud I am of each and every one.

The kindness and love you have for others I thought I would have only seen so long ago, as a child.

Yet when I go down on the city bus, I see so many helping hands. So many acts of kindness.

I truly from the bottom of my heart hope that I can connect with you and help more. I may not drive but I can cook and I have extra if anyone needs it.

In this day and age, we are so blessed to have you, for the world can be cruel but your passion and kindness bring hope to all.

With rent so high in our community, many have lost jobs during the pandemic. Our city streets, our parks and even in and behind factories are home to many.

To the wonderful group of people that help those who have served time in jail, trying to get them back on track. Taking the time to talk with them and listen to why they went down the path they did and with hope, they find a better life.

The wonderful drug centers set up in the community trying constantly to help those who are addicts get the help they need. To do everything possible to help set up appointments and even have several taken to our local hospitals.

We have so much more and as I have read recently that Habitat For Humanity hopes to build small cabins like sheds for many to live in.

Thank you, my angels, on earth. for you are the reason I still believe that kindness is still alive and 0ur world will be better. That hope still exists and every one of you deserves the utmost award of all.

In return, I will always be here if you need me.

Thank you and bless each and every one of you. xoxo

Love And Kindness Conquer All

I am scared because I have no money or place to sleep.

For now, I rest upon the street.

There is kindness that comes to me each day.

Often a warm drink. or a blanket where I lay.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

For now, there is hope for a new beginning, a new start.

love
