New Year’s Reflection

To 2026!

Well, well, well. Another year has passed — and with that, another year of me being on Medium is on the verge of starting.

Offline, my life has been getting somewhat more hectic. Work, errands, social stuff — you name it. I don’t really like going into my personal life all that much, but I’d say it’s been a fair deal more intense than it was in 2024.

Online, though? Surprisingly…I’d say it’s actually been rather peaceful; at least, more than I thought it would be.

I started out 2025 determined to patch up the loosest of ends from the past couple of years. Tensions, fallouts, slowdowns; a frequent combination of topics for many people in this world. In my case, though, my success wasn’t exactly major for quite a while.

Later on, I tried to catch up on some old news regarding certain people I used to hang out with. In more than a few cases, it wasn’t great — to say the least. But what happened had happened, and there wasn’t really anything I could do about it. Logically, I figured the best course of action was to just move on with my life.

Eventually, I ended up losing creative juice at one point. Writing articles became more difficult, storytelling was more painful to sort through, and video-making became increasingly out of the question. Needless to say, it wasn’t the most pleasant of experiences. However, I got to bounce back thanks to the help of some handy writing prompts and researching other inspiration.

Overall, I felt less of a passion for publishing in specific Medium publications in 2025 — especially towards the second half of the year.

It wasn’t that I didn’t like any of the publications I joined. Indeed, I am still fond of many of them and do wish to publish for them sometime. But with my engagement stats being more consistent and certain publication restrictions tightening, going indie more often felt like a larger priority to me.

With all that being said, here are some rather…interesting stats I found on my Medium and Vocal Media profiles.

-Like always, my “How To Expose People On The Internet” article still has plenty of traffic coming in. This is completely unsurprising to me, considering that Internet callouts are extremely common no matter what major social media platform one is on. While I’m not exactly the fondest of the formatting from there, I still stand by the points and much of the writing I put in the piece.

-Oddly enough, though….my satirical article on “How To Curse Someone (With High Efficacy)” from 2025 managed to overtake the callout how-to guide I made in both views and reads. At three thousand views and nearly two thousand reads, it is my most popular piece on Medium. Despite not believing in the occult, I do appreciate the amount of engagement I’ve gotten on it.

-I’m still getting Top Stories on Vocal Media — and plenty of them, to boot. In fact, sometimes I feel like the label’s being handled like candy by the administrators in charge of the platform. Nonetheless, I do appreciate my work being boosted there.

-Speaking of Vocal Media: my article on vagueposts on the site (also a Top Story) had the most engagement by far on my profile. I guess a lot of people can relate at least somewhat to the dread that comes with a strangely worded post refusing to actually implicate anyone.

Anyways, that’s it for 2025. I might make a Q&A on Medium if I get to 500 followers there. In addition, I do also still have an actual video on the back burner as well as some songs being written. Until then, take care.

May 2026 be a better year than the previous!
