My open letter to witches

Before we get into this, I want to state that I have no problem with whatever people believe in but there are some things that need to be addressed. So let's get into it.

I want to tell you guys where this is coming from. There was a school shooting near my house and a lot of people in the community instantly jumped in. This community is primarily Christian and conservative but there still are witches. The witches wanted to do spell work and energy work at the school almost immediately. They also wanted to cross the spirits over.

Before I go any further I will say that I know that witches like the majority of us was only wanting to help and to do something. But sometimes it's best to wait and see what the rest of the community is doing.

I believe that it was too soon for this to happen at the school. It was especially too soon for the cross over work. Some witches need to realize that there is a time and place for things like this. Why the rush to cross them over? Maybe they want to be there one more time with their friends before crossing over. I don't believe we should tell spirits when to cross over and I don't think that we have the power as flawed humans. My beliefs on crossing over are the same whether you are a preacher or a regular human.

Plus where are you crossing them over to? What if they don't want to be crossed over anywhere? Consent is still a thing. Also not anyone wants to be crossed over to the plain you want them to be crossed over to. What if a mistake is made? You may not know what you're doing like you think you do.

To go along with the idea of time and place they need to realize where they are. Like I said earlier in this post this is a very conservative and Christian community. They may not want your help, they may not even want you there. Christians have been hurting witches and making laws against witches. You should realize that doing something in a community that's mainly Christian can cause issues. They're liable to undo what you did so you're wasting your time.

Also if people ask you politely not to do something please respect that. Don't gaslight them or deny what you were really doing, that doesn't help you.

I think we need to let the kids lead us on how they want to handle this. In this situation the school and kids have led prayer services and other Christian based events that should tell us everything we need to know about this community and the kids. If a kid asks you to do a spell than do it privately for your kid.

You also have to look at what deity you're working with. This is the biggest thing. One of the most popular of late has been Lillith. Depending on what you believe about her she can be anything from the first wife of Adam (in the bible), she demon or the mother of demon. Why would you call on a possible demon to help kids?

This is the week that we need to use to focus on the kids and what they need from us as the community. Going forward this isn't about us. I want to be clear and repeat this you may want to do something but this isn't about you, it's about the kids.

I don't hate witches but when it becomes all about what the witch wants and not what the community wants that's where my problem lies.
